Food photography

in Photography6 years ago
Everywhere seems to me quite lately. I think it is mainly because the lockdown was eased a little in my vicinity and people are now going out to their jobs and business. I have been staying home for over 90 days now and even, it has been tiring and overly exhausting for me but I do savor the opportunity it has afforded. It has made me be able to take more photographs, exert my creativity, and even meet a couple of folks which is actually counter-intuitive but yes I did. During this time I tried my hand on food photography. I took a couple of shots and Id like to share with you guys.

I got my mobile phone, was having a meal of yam porridge and it was the perfect chance as it had that soup like look. Hence, it had a lot of contours and all.

I had the idea that I learned when taking food photography but I didn't have the tools or anything. So I used natural lighting and of course my cell phone. When it comes to food photography it has to be zoom. You have to move really close to the food to get as many details as possible. The chicken was present too.

I also decided to take a shot from another angle and also move the focus away from the foreground to the background. That makes it have this really delectable look. Amazing, innit?

You will instantly notice that I did the quite opposite this hot. I shifted the focus to the foreground and left the background out of focus. I also focused mainly on the chicken as it seems to stand out from the rest of the meal. I had a little difficult with the plate though, as I really didn't want it on in the frame but I couldn't take it out without affecting the overall outcome of the photo.

Looks delicious doesn't it? I took all photos here with my smartphone. I edited them on Adobe Lightroom. In the first photo, I only adjusted the lighting, clarity, and sharpening while for the second and third photos I adjusted the tint to make it blue-ish. The did similar edit like the first except lighting.
