Satoshi had a vision of something that operated totally outside the scope of government. Yet, today we are celebrating the fact that Bitcoin is now legal tender in El Salcador. Of course, it takes the force of the state to have people comply.
In this video I discuss what, while anything that helps adoption is good, it is interesting that we are celebrating government forcing people to accept the use of Bitcoin.

it is true but I don't have to face problems using it now mean I can convert it to cash cause there are not many who accept crypto as payment but I agree crypto should be clean of any gov
There is no question about bitcoin been decentralized.
Its good to hear that some countries are adopting.
Forced adoption is not what we really want because its more like coercion.
For this reason they don't try to know the purpose of what they have in their hands.
And I feel good that you talked about Nigeria but I think the last country to use adopt crypto might be Nigeria.
And I totally agree that this exponential change is happening so fast even in medicines knowledge doubles every five years.
The problem is most people don't want to know and don't want to lear.n
Although I’m not in favor of El Salvador’s Article 7 wording Sovereign adoption is a trend that will continue nonetheless. However, we as a community have to be vigilant not to embrace a one currency to rule them all situation. “Currency choice” should be something available to all people. This includes ALL crypto currency including shit coins. I’m sure Satoshi is flattered by this poignant move by a nation state. However, you are right concerning the original vision. Hopefully through continued blockchain education the people of El Salvador can make an educated response to their GOVT.

I feel like many of us just take every reason to get excited and this is just another. I haven't heard anyone who is really treating this as the biggest news ever. Governments getting in on crypto is an admission on their part that they need to start forfeiting some of their powers. It's akin to them agreeing to destroy nuclear weapons, except they are destroying their economic weapons, their monopoly on money.
BTW, I'm about to start a 200-300 Hive giveaway contest for twitter users who join and write their first post, think you could give me a retweet when I start promoting it? I spent 2 months building a following for this but the algorithms are funky when you drop a link at twitter and you might be able to help me reach more hivesters for likes/retweets so it actually gets seen.
I also tend to believe the importance of bitcoin being raised to legal tender status in El Salvador is blown out of proportions. As our free publicity to what seem to be dictatorial regimes. To what end? With or without El Salvador, the adoption of bitcoin will continue, and it will not be state-driven, but globally-driven.
