Wednesday Walk Silver Sands State Park
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending some Hive to a selection of those who participate.
Actifit
A good App that works well in conjunction with the Wednesday Walk or any day walk is @actifit, which rewards you with Actifit Tokens and Upvotes, if you use the app to track your steps and do a post of your actifit total each day.
If you do a lot of activity I do recommend you check it out
Make me Smile Collaboration
As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,
Here are the rules for her challenge
Your post can be writing, singing, video, poem,drawing, photography etc.... the most important part is your post Make me" smile, Remember, the ME is whoever read/view/listen to your post and this includes YOURSELF.
b. Your content must be ORIGINAL CONTENT
c. Please include at least 50 Words in your post
This weeks post is yet again a way back walk these shots are taken back in early March on my of my last walks on the beach, something I have missed and something i plan to get back into soon, not my long early morning walks I used to do at sunrise as My wife and I need to get out for some safe walks for fresh air and sun and she is not an early morning person like me, we have heard from a friend who goes on beach walks around 9AM that hardly anyone is out walking, so that's the time we are thinking of getting out for walks, and going down and walking on the beach since most walk along the sidewalk or boardwalk, so hopefully we can get in some walks soon, but anyway on to the photos
Starting with this shot of the boardwalk/bridge over the swampland of Silver Sands state park where people can walk from the car park to the beach

Love that boardwalk @tattoodjay! I bet you are anxious to get back there. Are you allowed to walk about your area yet? Weather permitting of course 😃 I'm sure you are anxious to get outside. Wonderful shots! Have a fabulous Wednesday!
Ohh yeah I love walking there but the problem is so do so many people , and it is allowed here with the recommendation to practice social distancing but so many ignore that from what I haveseen when we drive by there walking in groups along the boardwalk and passing close to people coming the other way so we are avoiding it for the moment, but when it warms up later this week we will try on another beach, actually walking on the beach not the sidewalk if not many or any people are around in the early morning
I miss nature walks. Lovely photos!!! All I get to see in the city are old and new buildings. 🤣😂 stay safe!
I have missed walks for 7 weeks now but I am lucky when I can get out walking I do have parks and the beach here so I am lucky indeed
Fantastic shots! There were a lot of people out during our walk yesterday. I have a feeling there will be even more today. It is funny to watch how people act in the park. We had one guy that was purposely avoiding us. Not sure if he is afraid of the "Rona" or if it was our black dog.
Thanks and we have had a cold spell but its meant to warm up to high 70s or 80s later this week and I am sure that will make so many decide enough is enough and get out for a walk, seems there's a few differently styles of people out walking from what I have seen, those very cautious masks on and trying to be away from people and keep a good distance ( that's how we are), some who don't see the need for masks but who do respect the choice of others and keep a good distance from others, and finally those who for whatever reason don't believe its a worry and do not care about others and walk right up to people
I read a post from someone in our city this morning who was out for a walk and a couple of yahoo older teens ran up to them and coughed right into their faces and ran off laughing, what complete idiots!!
That is horrible! We don't wear masks in the park but we do move off the path when we pass people.
thats the way it should be its simple respect for others, sadly not so simple and not so common these days it seems

March is spring time, right? I thought I would be seeing more greens during spring time? But the trees were so dry...

This was early march still officially winter I think Spring starts on the 19th, so it was still very dry and brown that day I am sure now it must be so green

WOW, in the last photo, it appears as if one can just walk on the water to that island! Is the island inhabited, @tattoodjay? Have you gone there? It makes one wonder what plants grow there, and insects, reptiles, and turtle snakes, perhaps?

Oops I may have worded it wrong its Silver Sands State Park, and Charles Island, which is actually owned but the Park
and at low tide you can walk out to the island but you have to pay attention as they tide comes in quick, each year people get caught out misjudging the tide and have been caught out, some have been washed away and sadly it seems a couple of times each year some get washed away and not saved, a sad loss
What a beautiful walk, I am one of yours, I like to get up early to sleep and if I can not for some reason, a few hours before sleeping at night.
I love how in your country they do things to improve the place, the sea bridge over the swamp is a sign.

Very beautiful siring day!! So sunny, so blue and clear and so fresh! Would like to go to that island and look around!
Thanks for your visit, the island is closed off to try and let the trees recover at the moment but it is possible to walk out there at low tide but you have to know the tide times so you do not get caught out
It's certainly beautiful green there by now. Hopefully you can go for a walk in the park and on the beach soon, JJ, but on a day or at a time when not too many people are around - in the morning when everybody still sleeps and shoot a beautiful sunrise again or Charles Island, which will surely look a bit greener by now too :)
You have shown this boardwalk before, but I cannot remember that it looked so very long.

I dont plan to walk at this spot for a while it is so popular and gets crowded so our walks will be on quieter beaches

Beautiful blue and calm ocean and great looking scenery , would look so lush when in spring time i would say.
Ohh ye sit is beautifully green and lush in the summer months for sure
I feel it would be will love to see some photos when it does get all lush and green.
I am avoiding it at the moment as it gets quite crowded, but her is a shot from a previous year
How amazing that is a stunning peaceful scenery you could sit there all night with a bottle of red wine admiring 👍

I was out for a long walk and we have our first flush of green here - finally!
I was a day late for I also went out and visited a bunch of ponds on the way back home from town spent hours taking photos then had to edit them when I got home and it was almost midnight when I was done so it had to wait until today!
