Communism and socialism are a race to the bottom in the same manner as electoral politics. Their mechanisms give equal footing to those who are least qualified with those who are actual pioneers providing market value. Without the ability to both succeed and fail based on individual initiative and voluntary support, massive distortions take place in the market and many needs go unmet due to gross inefficiencies.
And this is why free markets and free trade are so crucial to prosperity - having immediate market feedback as to what is valued through price signals.

Thank you! It's a discourse that is often missed by those advocating for central planning. They can only think through the first step, but don't consider the "and then what."
They're also so dumb that they think food magically appears on shelves. They say things like "I wonder how all those pretty squares and circles wound up on the ground" when flying over the flyover states.
It's a planned dumbing-down of the population through public school, sadly.
