Components
The components I want to suggest here is to add some feature of utopian.io editor in making contributions.
Utopian.io editor is where we can write our contributions for open source projects in utopian.io. As of now, there are functions in editor that we can use (headings, add bold, add italic, add quote, add link, add image, insert code). These functions are helpful to easily edit our contribution content.
On my side, I always use code and symbols for tutorials especially relating to electronics and circuits. These codes and symbols are very important and users may misunderstood what the contributors intention because the code and symbol used is not the same as some reference says.
These symbols for example are; Letters with subscript, Letters with superscript, degree, pi, ohms and others. In writing electrical equations, these symbols are always be encountered. We used symbols for the units and subscript for letter symbols.
Proposal
What I am proposing here is to have addition function for symbols and codes in utopian.io editor.
These additional function can be added from the existing ones.
Mockups / Examples
Here is the example on how the suggestion will work.
Before using the new function, here is the text.
For example, will we make the 1 in D1 as a subscript. Select the character 1 by highlighting it and press the subscript function.
Superscript and underline functions are with the same process with subscript.
For "Symbol" function, if we click it, a menu of available symbol we appear.
Benefits
here are the benefits if implemented;
- Users can now use superscript and subscript in writing formulas and equations
- Users can now use symbol for unit base parameters.
