The unusually heavy rainfall in Türkiye this year has affected many things. While the season at Nemrut Caldera usually opens in the first week of May, this year visitors started visiting the caldera in the first week of June.
Bu yıl Türkiye'de yaşanan alışılmadık derecede yoğun yağışlar birçok şeyi etkiledi. Nemrut Kalderası'nda sezon genellikle Mayıs ayının ilk haftasında açılırken, bu yıl ziyaretçiler kalderayı Haziran ayının ilk haftasında ziyaret etmeye başladı.
On one side of Mount Nemrut lies Lake Van, Türkiye's largest lake, while on the other side is Nemrut Crater Lake, the world's second largest lake. It is possible to admire breathtaking views from the peak of Mount Nemrut.
Nemrut Dağı'nın bir tarafında Türkiye'nin en büyük gölü Van Gölü varken öte yanında ise dünyanın en büyük 2. gölü olan Nemrut Krater Gölü var. Nemrut dağı zirvesinden eşsiz manzaraları izlemek mümkün oluyor.
At the summit of Mount Nemrut, there's an area where heavy snowfall has caused snow accumulation. Currently, the snowdrift is around 5 meters high. It was even more a week ago, but it's melting due to the warmer temperatures. I think we could still see this snow mass here even in the July heat. There are people who mix this snow with molasses and enjoy it.
Nemrut Dağı'nın zirvesinde, yoğun kar yağışında tipinin kar biriktirdiği bir alan var. Şu an kar birikintisinin boyu 5 metre civarında. Bir hafta önce daha fazlaymış, hava sıcaklığı karşısında erimeler oluyor. Temmuz sıcağında bile bu kar kütlesini burada görebileceğimizi düşünüyorum. Buradaki karı pekmez ile karıştırıp keyif yapan insanlar var.
Visitors had written their own names and the names of their loved ones on the snowdrift. Some had written the date of the day. I wrote "HIVE" there.
Ziyaretçiler kar birikintisi üstüne kendi ve sevdikleri kişilerin isimlerini yazmıştı. Kimileri günün tarihini yazmıştı. Ben de oraya HİVE yazdım.
The breathtaking views of Lake Van, the high mountains, and the snow still unmelted on the mountains. It's possible to gaze at these landscapes for hours from here. There are people who come here with their caravans and stay for days. To be honest, I couldn't stay here for very long. The inner part of the Nemrut Caldera, the area with the lakes, endemic plants, and animals, is so beautiful that I wanted to descend from the summit as quickly as possible.
Van Gölü'nün eşssiz manzaraları, yüksek dağlar ve dağlarda henüz erimemiş karlar. Buradan manzaraları saatlerce izlemek mümkün. Karavanı ile gelip burada günlerce kalan insanlar var. Doğrusu burada çok fazla kalamadım. Nemrut Kalderasının iç tarafı, göllerin, endemik bitkilerin, hayvanların olduğu alan o kadar güzel ki bir an önce zirveden aşağıya doğru inmek istedim.
We drove down into the caldera. The roads were damaged due to heavy rainfall. There are still large masses of snow that haven't melted inside the caldera. I plan to share the rest, and most important part, of this visit in a few days.
Araba ile kalderanın içine doğru iniş yaptık. Yoğun yağıştan dolayı yollar bozulmuş. Kalderanın içinde hala erimemiş çok fazla kar kütlesi var. Bu ziyaretimin geri kalan ve en önemli kısmını bir kaç gün sonra paylaşmayı düşünüyorum.
