A giant beetle I found in my farm
,sometimes ago I became curious about what is eating all my plant and crops in the farm and in the garden,some of the plants are been eating up by an unknown insects,so anytime I found any insect,bug,
caterpillar I always take a picture in other to make research about them if they are harmful to my crops or not,immediately I saw this giant beetle I quickly take a shot
before I won't see it again,so here is the result of my research
The name is prionus californicus, according to my research on Wikipedia i discover that it is a species of insect in the longhorn beetle family (cerambycidae) according to my research I discover that the beetle is considered as orchard pest,it has become prominent pest of fruits trees and also this beetle can bring about the death of an infested trees, and this damage can be cause directly girdling of the roots cambium or indirectly as the weakened host becomes susceptible to diseases
And another thing I discover is that this beetle can be eaten by humans in both the larva and adult stage
