Más allá de polémicas y criterios en torno a la designación de Catar como sede del mundial, lo cierto es que pasará a la historia por ser el primero que se realiza en un país árabe, desarrollarse en medio de las ligas y de otras competiciones a nivel de club y por realizarse en una etapa atípica respecto al resto de los mundiales realizados.
Bajas de último momento
Antes de la jornada inaugural se lesionaron jugadores importantes que se sumaron a los que no pudieron asistir a la competición, por problemas físicos o lesiones. Entre los que tuvieron que ser dados de bajas de último momento estuvieron: José Luis Gayá de España que fue sustituido por Balbe extremo del Barcelona y Nicolás Hernández de Argentina.
Pero, los dos casos más mediáticos e importantes, para sus equipos fueron los de Sadio Mané de Senegal quien es el mejor jugador y referente del equipo africano y el otro caso el del mejor jugador del mundo en el último año: Karim Benzema. En el caso del último Balón de Oro se suma a la lista de 4 jugadores del cuadro titular que no podrán estar en Qatar: Pogba, Kundé, Kanté y Nkunku.
Presentación de la Copa de la FIFA.
Un elemento de mucha emotividad y simbolismo fue la presentación de la Copa dorada de la entidad que rige el fútbol internacional que será alzada el 18 de diciembre, por el capitán de la selección que triunfe en el partido final que se disputará ese día.
La Ceremonia inaugural.
Varios elementos llamaron mi atención de la ceremonia inaugural. Aquí dejo mis consideraciones, en torno a lo sucedido en la ceremonia de apertura de la Copa del Mundo:
•Fue una ceremonia amena, breve, colorida y con un gran derroche tecnológico.
•Se hizo un recorrido por las costumbres, cultura y tradiciones del país sede.
•En el espectáculo se utilizó al fútbol, como hilo común, para la confraternidad y el respeto entre los países.
•Muy bello y nostálgico el recorrido que se hizo por varias copas del mundo utilizando los temas musicales que las presidieron y sumando las mascotas que las identificaron.
•Confraternizaron intérpretes musicales nacionales, con otros de países diferentes, como muestra de cofradía en el arte, con el deporte como pretexto, para ello.
•Acogedor e importante el diálogo establecido entre el actor estadounidense Morgan Freeman y un importante influencer de Qatar hablando sobre tolerancia, respeto, fraternidad y todo lo que provoca el fútbol en torno a los sentimientos.
•Muy hermoso escuchar el tema musical de esta copa del mundo y el desfile unido y entrelazado de las 32 banderas presentes en el evento deportivo.
•Se mostró la mascota de esta copa mundial vestida con el atuendo catarí y el color blanco predominante que, en mi caso se me antoja que más allá de su significado simboliza la paz que nos da el deporte.
La ceremonia inaugural culminó con las palabras del Emir de Qatar quien convocó a los futbolistas a dar lo mejor en la competencia y les dio la más cálida bienvenida a su país.
El primer partido de la Copa del Mundo.
El encuentro inicial de una copa del mundo reviste gran importancia y en este caso mucho más porque el ganador tiene grandes posibilidades de acompañar a Holanda en la ronda de octavos de final, toda vez que el equipo que representa a los Países Bajos es el claro favorito, para ganar este grupo y el otro representante del grupo que es Senegal perdió mucho con la salida de Sadio Mané. De ahí la importancia de este encuentro.
Y llegó el encuentro inaugural Ecuador vs Qatar
Aunque no es objetivo de esta publicación hacer un análisis profundo del partido si se debe apuntar que fue dominado de principio a fin por el cuadro ecuatoriano, pues dominó todas las facetas del encuentro. El cuadro local fue incapaz de descifrar el planteamiento táctico de sus rivales y perdieron el partido inicial ante su público, algo que nunca había ocurrido en la historia de las Copas del mundo; es decir, primera vez que la sede pierde su partido inaugural.
Esta derrota supone un duro golpe para los de Qatar que de mostrar el mismo fútbol que mostraron hoy frente a Ecuador se irán sin punto alguno de su mundial y no pasarán de la Fase de Grupos.
Al final del partido, Ecuador ganó algo más que tres puntos, pues con la victoria de 2 goles por cero (anotados por Enner Valencia) dio un paso firme en sus aspiraciones de avanzar más allá de la primera fase. Otro elemento importante de esta victoria fue haber anotado dos goles y mantener su portería en cero, lo que en caso de empate en la segunda posición puede tener un plus a su favor.
Lo más importante de la Jornada Inaugural
No sé si se puedan hacer dos publicaciones diarias en el mundial, pues tenía la intención de hacer o crear una sesión con lo más importante de la jornada y otra, sobre el análisis del o los partidos que decidiera publicar, por su importancia, calidad e interés personal. Pero, en aras de cumplir con las reglas de la comunidad aquí le dejo lo que a mi juicio fue lo más importante de esta jornada inaugural:
•Inició la XXII Copa del Mundo
•La ceremonia inaugural fue motivante, breve, colorida y muy alegre
•Se presentó el trofeo que ganará el equipo que se titule el 18 de diciembre
•Ecuador alcanzó tres puntos de oro que lo ponen en una situación inmejorable, para avanzar a octavos de finales.
•Ecuador hizo historia al derrotar en el partido inicial al país sede, algo que nunca había ocurrido en copas del mundo.
•Ener Valencia anotó el primer doblete del mundial y de hecho ya es líder en este departamento
A Manera de Conclusión
La jornada inaugural nos deparó varios momentos emotivos y significativos; lo que nos demuestra lo que puede hacer la nobleza del deporte y la belleza del fútbol, en torno a sentimientos tan bellos y puros como pueden ser el respeto, la tolerancia, la hermandad y el disfrute pleno, a partir de un espectáculo cultural como puede ser una Copa del Mundo.
Esta competición servirá para disfrutar durante un mes de las diferentes culturas de los 32 países participantes y que representan a todas las regiones geográficas del planeta. Más allá del país que logre ganar la competición, será una fiesta deportiva, en la que los diferentes protagonistas intentarán ganar el trofeo para sus países y darán lo mejor de su calidad deportiva y talento, en pos de este objetivo.
Como dijo el actor de los Estados Unidos de América Morgan Freeman "Esto es un llamado al mundo entero" que puede ser el eslogan o lema de este mundial, para que el mundo vea que, en medio de contradicciones, problemas, maneras diferentes de pensar se puede convivir con humildad y respeto. Esto es lo que logra el fútbol y el deporte en general. Ojalé este fuera el idioma mundial.

The wait is over, the days of longing are over, at last the world can proclaim that the Qatar 2022 Football World Cup has begun.
Beyond the controversies and criteria surrounding the designation of Qatar as host of the World Cup, what is certain is that it will go down in history for being the first to be held in an Arab country, for taking place in the middle of the leagues and other competitions at club level and for being held at an atypical stage with respect to the rest of the World Cups held.
Last-minute withdrawals
Before the opening day, important players were injured, which added to those who could not attend the competition due to physical problems or injuries. Among those who had to be withdrawn at the last minute were: José Luis Gayá of Spain, who was replaced by Balbe, a Barcelona winger, and Nicolás Hernández of Argentina.
But, the two most mediatic and important cases for their teams were those of Sadio Mané of Senegal who is the best player and referent of the African team and the other case of the best player in the world in the last year: Karim Benzema. In the case of the last Ballon d'Or, he joins the list of 4 players of the first team that will not be able to be in Qatar: Pogba, Kundé, Kanté and Nkunku.
Presentation of the FIFA Cup.
A highly emotional and symbolic element was the presentation of the golden FIFA Cup, which will be lifted on December 18 by the captain of the team that wins the final match to be played on that day.
The Opening Ceremony.
Several elements of the opening ceremony caught my attention. Here are my thoughts on what happened at the opening ceremony of the World Cup:
It was an enjoyable ceremony, brief, colorful and with a great technological splurge.
It was a journey through the customs, culture and traditions of the host country.
The show used soccer as a common thread for fraternity and respect among the countries.
A very beautiful and nostalgic journey was made through several world cups using the musical themes that presided over them and adding the mascots that identified them.
National musical interpreters fraternized with others from different countries, as a sample of brotherhood in art, with sports as a pretext for it.
The dialogue established between the American actor Morgan Freeman and an important Qatari influencer, talking about tolerance, respect, fraternity and everything that soccer provokes in terms of feelings, was very welcoming and important.
Very beautiful to listen to the musical theme of this World Cup and the united and intertwined parade of the 32 flags present at the sporting event.
The mascot of this World Cup was shown dressed with the Qatari attire and the predominant white color that, in my case, I think that beyond its meaning, symbolizes the peace that sport gives us.
The opening ceremony culminated with the words of the Emir of Qatar who called on the players to give their best in the competition and gave them the warmest welcome to his country.
The first match of the World Cup.
The opening match of a World Cup is of great importance and in this case much more because the winner has great chances of joining the Netherlands in the round of 16, since the team representing the Netherlands is the clear favorite to win this group and the other representative of the group which is Senegal lost a lot with the departure of Sadio Mané. Hence the importance of this match.
And then came the opening match Ecuador vs Qatar
Although it is not the purpose of this publication to make an in-depth analysis of the match, it should be noted that it was dominated from start to finish by the Ecuadorian team, as they dominated all facets of the game. The home team was unable to decipher the tactical approach of their rivals and lost the opening match in front of their own fans, something that had never happened before in the history of the World Cups; in other words, the first time that the host team has lost its opening match.
This defeat is a hard blow for the Qatari team, which, if they show the same soccer they showed today against Ecuador, will leave their World Cup without a point and will not advance beyond the Group Stage.
At the end of the match, Ecuador won more than just three points, as with the 2-0 victory (scored by Ener Valencia) they took a firm step in their aspirations to advance beyond the first phase. Another important element of this victory was having scored two goals and keeping a clean sheet, which in the event of a tie for second place could be a plus in their favor.
Opening Day Highlights
I do not know if it is possible to make two daily publications in the World Cup, because I had the intention of making or creating a session with the most important of the day and another one, on the analysis of the match or matches that I decided to publish, due to their importance, quality and personal interest. But, in order to comply with the rules of the community, here is what in my opinion was the most important of this opening day:
The XXII World Cup began
The opening ceremony was motivating, brief, colorful and very joyful.
The trophy that will be won by the team that wins the title on December 18 was presented.
Ecuador achieved three golden points that put it in an unbeatable position to advance to the round of 16.
Ecuador made history by defeating the host country in the opening match, something that had never happened before in World Cups.
Ener Valencia scored the first brace of the World Cup and is already the leader in this department.
By way of conclusion
The opening day brought us several emotional and significant moments; which shows us what the nobility of sport and the beauty of soccer can do, around such beautiful and pure feelings as respect, tolerance, brotherhood and full enjoyment, from a cultural spectacle such as a World Cup.
This competition will serve to enjoy for a month the different cultures of the 32 participating countries, representing all the geographical regions of the planet. Beyond the country that manages to win the competition, it will be a sporting party, in which the different protagonists will try to win the trophy for their countries and will give the best of their sporting quality and talent, in pursuit of this goal.
As the actor of the United States of America Morgan Freeman said "This is a call to the whole world" which could be the slogan or motto of this World Cup, so that the world can see that, in the midst of contradictions, problems, different ways of thinking, it is possible to coexist with humility and respect. This is what soccer and sport in general achieves. I wish this were the world language.
