The truth is that, as we get older, our commitment becomes more personal, and the opinions of others no longer matter to us as much as they should.
For this reason, I want to step out of my comfort zone and address this dilemma: Why do I deserve more than I have, and why don't I have more than I have?

Do I deserve more than I have?
I believe that the effort I have put in over these years, the ability and responsibility I have demonstrated, and the results of my work could have been better rewarded.
Another element that has undermined the goal of having more is the way in which work is distributed and the poor egalitarian practice of giving everyone the same thing: taking into account the result, the quality, and the contribution.
In education, the contribution made by teachers, the wealth of talent it develops, and the quality results it achieves have not been taken into account.
I remember once questioning my oldest nephew about not wanting to work for the state, and he said something that left me speechless and without a response: "Dude, you've been here for almost 40 years and you have no wealth accumulated through your labor, not even a car to get around in, not even your own home." And he immediately asked me: "Why work for the state?"
In that sense, and considering the work I've done in these 39 years, I deserved a better quality of life and better material and economic conditions for my full development.

Has all of the above been the responsibility of others?
Why do I have less than I have?
I must say that, at times, my mindset and limitations have influenced me. These limitations, in other words, have been fears and excuses for not launching into a new adventure for fear of failure. Other times, it has been personal circumstances, such as my health problems or situations related to my family environment, that have prevented me from taking on a new venture.
At times, it has been a lack of opportunities, because in some places where I lived, jobs did not foster personal, economic, and human development.
And, the other important element has been the economic crisis we are experiencing, combined with economic recessions and natural disasters that negatively affect my general and individual well-being.

A final comment
I have often reflected on what I have, what I don't have, and what I could have had if I had adopted a different attitude toward life. I must critically accept that I cannot blame others.
It's true that my environment and socioeconomic conditions have played a role, but if I had been braver, taken risks, and seized the opportunities that presented themselves, perhaps today I would have much more than I do.
