This morning, as I went out to start hubby's work truck, I spotted this fella hanging out in the (wicked early) sun, staring down at my bird feeders. I'm sure Mr. Cooper's Hawk was just hoping to say hello to his little friends...

Oh, wow!! It has been said that hawks are a sign of the angels telling you to prepare for a role of leadership. Perhaps you are to be a teacher again! ♥

Hmmm, maybe I'm destined to homeschool our (possible, eventual) grandkids... LOL

Amazing thing - when hubby got home tonight, he said he also saw a hawk - it flew from the side of the road as he was driving, and stayed alongside for a few seconds before heading back into the woods. Guess we'll be running the York Homeschool Academy together!

Wow! Well ya never know! I'll bet something interesting is coming up though for sure!

Thanks, @paintingangels! Given how our lives generally go - yep, gotta be something interesting... LOL!

That will keep the rodent population under control.. I love birds of prey the best. Kinda like cats, natural born killers

I'm wondering if I'm the only one who really loves Turkey Vultures. 😊

You are not the only one. :) I love their unique look and also the amazing capacity to process dangerous bacteria/disease. They are so important and underappreciated.

SQUEE

Most definitely not, @brightstar! Love those Golden Purifiers, and I have a bunch of shots (flying and perched) from the past few years. I'll see about putting them together in a post soon, and I'll tag you if you'd like!

Yes. I love them. I feel blessed every time I'm in contact with one.

Awesome! I'll put it together some time in the next few days!

There is definitely the possibility that, at one time or another, I hollered at our local hawks, "Could you please leave the Mourning Doves alone and do something about all the chipmunks?" Corvids, raptors, and felines... these are a few of my favorite things. 😊

You must live in a bird sanctuary!

In a way, @tarotbyfergus - we live on the edge of 700 acres of conservation land. 😊

Wicked cool shot!

Thanks, Roger! He was a brat today - usually he hangs around long enough for me to get a bunch of shots, but today he took off after one. 😜

He must have smelled a mouse! Breakfast or glamour shot... he chose breakfast!

LOL! True - and hard to blame him for letting his stomach make the decisions. Mine does all the time. 😂

I adore hawks. To me they look so majestic and grand. I have one that lives in the woods behind my house. The only draw back is if he is around the other birds tend to scatter. Except the crows, no one messes with crows!

Same. And exactly - I can't even tell you how many times "my" crows have chased the hawks out of our yard! 😊
