While we escaped the brunt of the Nor'easter on March 3rd in my corner of the New England (lots of strong winds & rain to be sure, but little to no snow), the one that started on Wednesday the 7th into Thursday the 8th made up for it. When all was said and done, I heard we got 14 inches/36 cm, but thanks to the wind, some drifts were a bazillion feet high!
As far as storms go though, we couldn't complain. Power went out just after midnight, and didn't come back until around 5pm, however for about 12 of those hours our amazing landlords had the generator going. We couldn't use our stove (wrong amperage), but our furnace & refrigerators were on (and most importantly - the coffee maker! LOL) so we were warm and well fed throughout.
Here are a bunch of shots from the afternoon that it started, some shots overnight (thanks to hubby holding the flashlight at the window for me - LOL), and throughout the day. And if what they're saying on the news is true, looks like I'll have more pictures of the THIRD nor'easter, heading our way for Monday.

A gif, made by yours truly,
of the snow getting heavy Wednesday afternoon.
Sid was none too pleased to be outdoors.
Sandy, however, enjoyed running around
the yard, sniffing everything in sight!
Just before going to bed (around 11:30pm)
I got this shot of the snow covered bird feeders.
Woke up around 4:30am because the house
was so quiet (power outage) and took this.
Mid morning Thursday, before the birds
and the wind knocked all the snow off.
Basketball hoop, again at bedtime.
Early the next morning.
Middle of the night shot through
our living room window, looking
towards our landlord's house
Front porch light - accidentally
overexposed, but I liked the bokah effect.
Front porch light again
Front porch light the next morning
(all shots were taken by leaning
out the front door - LOL)
This guy really enjoys the snow!
First priority - clear off the grill so we can make burgers later
Little bird, big snow
Snow covered branches
Tufted Titmouse may be in over his head.
Wet snow is miserable to shovel,
but it's gorgeous decoration for the trees!
Speaking of shoveling, our landlord's brother
does the majority of the huge driveway with
this miracle machine!
Did I mention the branches look pretty?
That snow blob used to be the back deck light.
View of the back deck from
inside the warm upstairs.
Magical looking woods.
I'm not sure if Miss Goldfinch was complaining about the snow,
or thanking me for the seed.
Either way, she left a big impression.
A different Goldfinch just
focused on the food.
A Dark-eyed Junco, waiting his turn.
Careful, buddy! Don't slip!
I'd swear this Blue Jay was thinking,
"I regret my choice to land on the ground."

That is a crazy amount of snow! I have no idea how you northerners deal with it. I love winter, but winter down here...lol. Knew there was going to be a gif! Out of the entire post, the most important information that was processed by my mind, was THERE WAS COFFEE! Thank goodness for that. Hope the next one is a bit milder for you all.
LOL! Thanks, @papacrusher! Yep, the first question I had for our landlady, when she said they'd tied our house into their emergency generator, was "can we run our coffee maker?" We've bonded over brew before, so she totally got it (and said, "of course!" And thanks for the mild weather wishes - fingers crossed!
At least you guys got cool weather to chill under and have fun.
Over here it's another day, another heat wave.
Yeah, good point, @jacksondavies. Give it about 5 minutes (because our weather can be so crazy) and I'll probably be complaining about the heat wave too. 😊
I moved from Northwestern Michigan to Kansas City, Kansas, about a year ago and oh my gods do I miss snow. Like we've had some, but your pictures are basically Michigan-level winters and I never thought I'd miss that as much as I did over this past winter. It's already spring here with 60+ degree days and all the snow we had was never more than 1-2 inches at any given time.
Your pictures are beautiful, truly. I just wish we could have gotten some of that XD
I'll do my best to put as much snow as possible in an envelope and mail it to you, @sigilmancy! LOL! Yep, as much as I complain about it, I can't imagine living anywhere less snowy. And thank you so very much for the kind words!
That’s a lot of snow we got last ckulyvand only got about 8 inches
It definitely is a lot, @tattoodjay - especially since we had some rain mixed in. If it had been a little colder, we easily could've gotten another couple inches.
lets hope this is the last if the season
Fingers crossed!
Or looking to good for tomorrow maybe another 4-8 inches more
Great photos. Thanks for the update. You all in the North have really gotten hit this winter.
Thanks, @lifeisartsandy! Yes, we have, but we've also gotten some beautiful days in between. Never a dull around here!
Thank you so much, @pixresteemer!
Snow is so pretty when you don't have to live in it LOL. Great photos, but man I don't miss the snow. Sid made me literally laugh out loud. What a cool cat!
Sid adopted us about 14 years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't think he's a cool cat! LOL! Thanks so much, @appiepearl!
wow, so much intense weather in the past few weeks!! glad you're all safe and cozy
Mother Nature has definitely been in a bit of a mood lately! Thanks so much, @natureofbeing!
Oh my god, that snow, is enough for me to sink in. Despite the snow, you manage to shot some really nice photos! That's impressive :D
Thanks so much, @explorernations! And yes, it's wicked sinkable snow!
SID IS BLACK ?????????? My God I'm in loooooove !!!! <3 <3 <3 <3
But seriously what the heck is wrong with this weather???? xD xD xD
Awesome slideshow, as if I was there !!! :)))
Yep, Sid is short for Obsidian (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsidian). 😊
I'm working on an entire post devoted just to him. 🐈 💜
And thanks so much, @meanmommy33! 😍

Such pretty photos! Looks cold!
Thank you, @kimmiecfields! It was actually warm enough that some rain mixed with the snow, which is why it stuck so nicely to the trees (and was heavy as hezmana to shovel). Just heard the third storm is confirmed for midweek - listen, Mother Nature, I can only take so many pictures of the snow! LOL!
When I see your photos, I actually miss the snow!
...for a few minutes for anyway ;)
It really is beautiful though! This is my first winter being away from it all, and like you, I always thought the trees looked so beautiful with their branches blanketed in snow. I love the photo of the basketball hoop filled. And the birds are awesome. Oh, and of course the gif :)
Poor Sid; you can just tell from a cat's face how they're feeling about it all, right? ;) Of course Sandy loved it. My dog used to bury his nose in the snow and run, like a snow-plow, then throw his head up, frantically chewing piles of snow ; it was crazy to watch:)
LOL!
And thanks so much, @lynncoyle1! It's such a love/hate kinda thing, isn't it? I love the way it feels outside after a new snowfall - the quiet, the beauty. But then I feel the cold, and it quickly loses its charm... 😆
Yep, Sid's gotten spoiled this winter - we've actually had a litter box set up for when the weather is really bad, and he's now old enough that he almost prefers it. And Sandy does the same thing! with burying his nose in the snow! It's so funny - it's like the snow is new again to him every single time!
When we get hit with another foot or so on Tuesday, I'll see what I can do about putting some in an envelope and sending it your way. 😊

hahaha that's awesome!! Totally worth an upvote but my VP is absolutely miserable right now ;)
And dogs are so much like little kids; just lovin' life!
No worries, @lynncoyle1 - I totally get it! I keep trying to resist that UV button, but it's so shiny... then my VP gets unshiny...LOL!
And most definitely, except my dog listens to me so much better than our kids do... 😄
I even put my name in the "absent" tab on steemitbloggers discord channel today, but I've since upvoted one anyway! sheesh!!
Oh ya, dogs...way easier to train :)
Quite the storm! Especially loved the bird pictures. Good to keep those feeders full and accessible!
Thanks to @chiefmappster, this post was resteemed and highlighted in today's edition of The Daily Sneak.
Thank you for your efforts to create quality content!
Oh, wow! Thank you so much @sneakyninja and @chiefmappster!

How great! I love all the bird pictures, especially the snow imprint left behind by the goldfinch. :)
Thank you so much, @katysavage! We have another storm starting in a few hours, and I have no doubt the goldfinches will be making more impressions in the snow tomorrow!
That's great. :) I hope you stay safe and warm! Do you have a wood stove?
Thanks @katysavage! We did stay nice and cozy - unfortunately no wood stove, but our landlords have a generator in case of outages. Luckily didn't need to make use of it this go round.
That's good at least! Glad you are doing okay. :)
Wow. I do NOT miss living in a snowy-cold place at ALL. The photos are gorgeous, but I hated having to get out in that kind of weather!!! I loved it when we could all stay nice and cozy inside, but when my husband would have to leave to go to work, it was unpleasant and I worried a lot.
Great post!
I hear that, @byn - I'm forever trying to get my husband to call out when the weather is bad (he's a cable line technician) and he's forever reminding me that in order to get paid, he has to actually go to work. And thanks so much!
