#SublimeSunday - Winter Sunrises

in #sublimesunday5 years ago

When I first started participating in the #SublimeSunday tag, before I started doing the funky edits, I did a post called Mostly Silent Winter Storm. This week, I thought I'd take a break from birds & butterflies, and put together a collection of some of my shots of winter sunrises.

At first, I was just planning to do sunrises, especially since, surprisingly enough, I seem to have more of those photos than of actual sunsets (although I have a bazillion and one sunset skies). The reason this night owl manages more early shots is two-fold - first up, hubby gets up just this side of omg'oclock for work, and secondly given how this property is set up, we barely get a glimpse of the sun when it sets behind the trees.

Then when I took a look at the first dozen I found, I realized they were all taken in February, March, April, November, and December of 2015 to 2017. I'm posting them in order from oldest to most recent.

One last thing before I get to the Winter Sunrises - be sure to check out tag host @c0ff33a's most recent #SublimeSunday post for more info on this wicked cool initiative - 🙌🏽Sublime Sunday🙌🏽 An excuse to post your random, creative or crazy ideas by @c0ff33a ☕️

Beautiful snow scenes, these are my perfect snow day’s crisp with blue skies and bright sun - it’s a joy especially when you can grab a sun set through trees like you have here. There is nothing more beautiful then clean untracked snow either, such a wonderful sight. !COFFEEA

@traciyork - I enjoyed your winter sunrises. They'll be back again before you know it. I'm not happy with how quickly summer is flying by!

I love sunrises... Winter ones are easier to see than summer ones for sure!

Shot 11 - gives a writer kind of vibe out of it - Like you should just see and write a story

I love how the sun peaks above the horizon through the trees. I am so glad that the days of getting up at (I love this) omg'oclock are long gone - execept when absolutely necessary, and which is why my sunrise pics are also winter only.

Saying the word winter in the middle of the summer here in Canada generally gets met with some nasty reactions.

It take a special person to enjoy the cold and find beauty where there is a little discomfort.

Keeps your grounded and enjoying the nice weather even more!
