Does Love Really Fade?

in The Real Talk6 months ago (edited)

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.

Does love really fade when the bills start rolling in?

See honestly, I cannot say that love itself fades, but the reality is that money does plays a big role in keeping that love steady, it is not even about being materialistic or anything like that at all, see it is just life , Love without money might survive in movies, but talking about in real life, Omo e dey hard o die.

You see, being in a relationship isn’t just about saying I love you every morning or now posting cute couple pictures on social media, it requires so much effort ,and sometimes, that effort do costs money, you have to fund certain things for your partner, and they too have to do the same for you too, It could be as simple as going on a date, buying gifts, or even helping out when one person is struggling, because when both people in a relationship can support each other, there is this kind of peace that comes with it.

But when money becomes an issue, that is when all this small arguments start turning into big problems , you will start hearing things like, You have changed, or You don’t care like before, when the actual truth is that, the only thing that really changed is that the bills are getting more heavier and then no one is smiling financially, Love then becomes so stressful when you are broke.

I have seen situations where couples who used to be so happy start drifting apart simply because the money stopped flowing, not because they stopped loving each other, but because the struggle became too much, when you can not even settle basic things like rent, food, or transport, love begins to feel like a luxury, you can not be telling someone I love you when there is no light, no food, and the landlord is knocking, feelings alone cannot fix that.

There is this saying people use a lot now No money, no love, at first, I used to think it was just a joke or something people say online, but I have come to realize that there is some kind of truth in it, money does not buy love at all, yes, but then it helps love to stay alive, because comfort brings peace, and peace keeps love strong.

For me, love and money should go hand in hand, you cannot remove one and expect the other to survive completely, of course, I know love should be built on more than material things, but the truth is, when life gets real, emotions alone can not fill empty stomachs or fix broken things, It takes two people who understand that love is not just words but actions and sometimes, those actions need funding.

So no, love does not exactly fade when the bills arrive, It just gets tested, and when there is no money to reduce the stress, it is then easy for things to just fall apart, the best kind of love, in my opinion, is when both people are working together to build ,emotionally, mentally, and financially, because at the end of the day, love is sweet, but it is even sweeter when there is money to cushion all manner of stress.

"Love without money in movies can survive." This part got me laughing hard 🤣 😂, but then that is the reality we face, people would watch Nollywood movies until they used it to define their lives, then when they start experiencing it in the real world, their eyes would be open to the reality that is before them. Love alone isn't enough.

Who has used love to pay the bills in a home, there are certainly things love can't do in a home.

My dear it isn't no matter what anyone says.
