I love our community but nothing has changed story wise. If we see .05 we’ll likely see .02 and .01 next 18 months. Sad but true.
Used to have a whale stake up untill October, bought for an average of 30 cents over a 9 years time frame.
5 cents is going to drastically lower my average, here’s why.
As concerns the chain, witness servers can run for only 40$ a month, so price should crash to like 0.006$ for them to be concerned, not impossible, but definitely highly unlikely.

I think the price is not a very good reflection of how good Hive actually is. I hope we can recover from this and get more relevant in the crypto space
Bleeding active users? Every year since 2021. We are not in a good place. We need witnesses & devs to admit this so we can actually change this! But sadly they pretend things are thriving, they are not. If we love Hive, we must be honest and demand changes.
It's our fault as well, isn't it? What is the turnout on proposals to get voted through? 15-20% of Hive Power?

On a personal note, I'd say most, if not all, my money has stayed in the ecosystem if we include hive engine. Can you say the same for the big players who actually move the price with their unlimited dumping here? 😀🤭

I don't remember a single tier 1 exchange listing with the exception of whatever we got from the early days. For the other part, fair enough, I have removed some witnesses that I had voted years and years ago when I was more clueless. You sure don't fall on the witnesses I am talking about as you obviously hold a decent amount of hive. But don't you think it's a bit hypocritic being a top 20 witness for years and years long even before the fork and yet holding anything less than 100k? And yet the higher ups let that fly. 🐺
Re: DHF & listings, I created the return proposal. Listings including those early days I’m referring to, and that everyone takes for granted were done mostly voluntarily. And listing itself isn’t where the story ends - maintenance isn’t effort-free. And believe it or not, there are people working on that for years, and not really being paid from the DHF for it :-)
And talking about being hypocritical :-) have you checked the Stake Coefficient for our accounts?
That “miserable” amount I’m holding here (not even $200k nowadays), as sad as it might be (well, for me), is that it's all you can get from being pretty much a top witness most of the time, working your hat off for the platform, where in my case a “full-time” is a large understatement.
By 100k I meant hp, my bad. There are people who probably have earned over a million USD since they were top 20 witness well before hive and have been dumping every last penny meticulously

Not everyone keeps their hive on the witness account or on a single account for security reasons. Not trying to defend others but stating my position. Also not everyone cares about KE or hoardes hive when they think it could be used to build something that may benefit the entire ecosystem and in other ways "re-invest" in it. I don't disagree though that there for sure are some who just care about their fiat rather than their stake.
The problem is almost nobody hoards or even tries to hold some hive (always relative to how much they have extracted)

Dunno, I always treat hive with respect and worth more than it is. It's easy to give up and accept defeat but time has proven that blockchains and coins don't die so easily. My only regret is spending too much value on certain projects and not being able to buy more hive here, but at least I'm not selling it at these prices as I see many do.
What ? What listening? We’ve been D-listed from half the swap services that had us, even two of the four PeakD still lists has removed Hive years ago. This denial of reality is the problem. We have bled a tube users every year since 2022 and most devs & witnesses refuse to admit we need changes to turn this story around.
'Hive does not pay to get listed' mental has its downsides.
What makes me really angry is that all coin aggregators they don't see our internal market, tons of transactions are happening here and it would change Hive/HBD scorings
And that's why you need listings. Easiest way to bring attention and targeted traffic to our ecosystem.
Getting listings for mere listings is pointless, as far as I know Hive-Btc market liquidity is below Binance standards and might get delisted. Let's hope @hallmann and @gtg will get Hive listed on Zonda

Lucky I put more in Silver than in Hive
I got lucky powering down a few weeks when we hit $3.33 in 2021. I bought silver & gold mostly with the profits. I feel ya 100%. Timing was pure luck! Even better I bought at .10 cents in 2020 & sold 40K hive at $2.50 or higher, it’s indeed luck but also smart move too.
The real Hive lovers power up and hold, while they take advantage of each little rise.

Hive. Literally on this platform. If you have stake, you get plenty of rewards from those ego to vote just to get it in return. This model doesn’t support rewarding high quality content, it’s just the truth. It can, but it’s not the standard. We have 75% of accounts who buy upvotes through delegation services who trade delegation for daily upvotes & Leo just sells them flat out via a monthly subscription which promises votes in far excess of the subscription cost for same period. You are correct about the quality stuff, but he’s totally right about overall it has nothing to do with support or rewards. Most accounts comment on big stake accounts posts to hopefully get a big vote, just look at hurt lockers posts, he upvotes almost all replies so low quality accounts spend extra minute making a non spam comment to get it voted. It’s games & more games here. I suppose the model attracts this behavior, we will never have a system here where rewards have most to do with who’s posting, not if it’s high effort or mailed in post. Smaller accounts keeping KE in below 1 order don’t even make a dent compared to the big players sucking out value. I gave up on that after years of believing we could. I’ll always love my time here since 2017, but it’s just the truth nothing is changing and devs keep shouting ridiculous fiction like how HBD will be the most used stable coin & even be the token used in bitcoins network, a funded by DHF dev said this at most recent hive fest, it’s beyond ridiculous.
