I looked for some different cards today to refine my strategy involving the Water element Archon, Marlai Singariel. Since renting Elowen Sylphie this season, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my win rate; her ability to grant the 'Resurgence' skill to two chosen cards creates immense power on the battlefield—especially when combined with the 'Scavenger' ability, the results are mind-blowing. Wanting to replicate this success with another element, I chose the Water Archon Marlai Singariel, whom I already have upgraded to the maximum level. This Archon boosts the magic power of all magic cards on the team by +1. To leverage this effectively, I needed to find cards that complemented this trait. While I didn't find another card that fit both my budget and strategy, I realized that a card offering both magic power and 'Weapon Training' would be ideal; the best option turned out to be the Legendary Magic card 'Daarg Deadblast' from the Rebellion set.

Even at Level 1, this card comes with a mana cost of 7, 2 Magic Power, 5 Health, and a base speed of 1; remarkably, it possesses both the 'Weapon Training' and 'Swiftness' abilities right from the start. The Swiftness ability resolves its speed issue while also boosting the speed of all other team members by +1, making it a perfect card for my needs. With 10 days remaining in the season, I paid 15 DEC per day—totaling 150 DEC—which was a fantastic deal; whenever I had seen this card previously, its price was more than double this amount. Even now, the Level 2 version was listed at 50 DEC per day, so the Level 1 card at 15 DEC was the best deal for me, especially considering its abilities. However, simply acquiring this card wasn't enough; I also needed 'No-Attack' cards to pair with it effectively and form a strong team.

Well, now that the trainer has arrived, I examined two cards—each with a different mana cost—to decide which one to pair with it. The reason for this is simple: if a battle allows for a high mana cap, I’ll use the stronger, high-mana card; conversely, if the mana cap is low, I’ll use the low-mana trainee to complete the synergy. For the low-mana option, I chose the Water element's Daigendark Surveyor. It has health comparable to Daarg Deadblast but boasts slightly better speed. Crucially, it possesses the 'Magic Reflect' ability, which returns 50% of magic attack damage to the attacker—undoubtedly a powerful trait. The second, stronger option is the Grey element's Ulundin Overseer. It is a powerhouse, boasting 5 armor and 12 health right at Level 1. While its base speed is standard, it can be boosted by Daarg Deadblast's 'Swiftness' ability. Additionally, it has the 'Flank' ability; if this card is positioned in the first slot, the card in the second slot gains the 'Reach' ability. All in all, I now have the perfect partner for Daarg Deadblast for both low- and high-mana battles. Next, I’ll explain how this synergy plays out on the battlefield.
Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
