Edmonton: Road trip with Friends - Day 1

in Worldmappin8 months ago

Hi Hive Friends!

Over the Canada Thanksgiving holiday, that is held on the second Monday in October to celebrate the harvest and blessings of the past year, we took a road trip with our friends to Edmonton, which is the capital of the province of Alberta.

We didn't know the city yet and thought the holiday would be a good opportunity to visit the city and have some fun at the famous West Edmonton Mall - considered the largest mall in North America.

We left Calgary very early in the morning, after all, it's a 3-hour drive there, on a very dreary road. We stopped in Red Deer to stretch our legs and have a Canadian-style breakfast.

We chose ALBERT'S, a family-run restaurant in town since 1959. The owners were super friendly, and the food was wonderful! I even got a piece of homemade banana bread.

We went straight to the mall's aquapark when we arrived in Edmonton.

The park consists of 17 waterslides, a wave pool, the world's largest indoor wave pool, a zip line, and a surf rider, among other activities.

Guaranteed fun for all ages!

Diversão garantida pra todas as idades!

After spending a lot of energy there, we chose to have dinner at an Italian restaurant: Cafe Amore Bistro.

Another surprise in the city: good service, very good food and live music!

After dinner, we took a walk to the Neon Sign Museum, on a street near the Rogers Place stadium with neon signs of the city's old establishments.

"The Neon Sign Museum, the first in Canada, features a collection of historic signs that tell a story about Edmonton's neon past.

Your road trip to Edmonton for the Canada Thanksgiving holiday sounds like a wonderful adventure! Exploring new places and enjoying delicious local food is always a great way to spend time with friends and create lasting memories.

A road trip with friends is always almost a guarantee of amazing time! I can see that you had a great time over there! The park seems to be very fun! I find very original that it’s built inside a building! I’ve never been in a place like that!

Thanks a lot for sharing!! Enjoy!

Tks. Lot of fun indeed. I think due the cold weather they had this idea to make it indoor

That aquapar looks like a lot of fun! Wish we would have something similar where I'm living 😞

Totally!!! We had lot of fun there. Maybe you find somewhere alike close.

The aqua park looks amazing! I bet it burnt a lot of energy for everyone! I think my kids would love it as much as I would love to spend time there.

That's was the intention, drain out the kids energy lol
