Face 2 Face Real Time Facial Expression Mapping Software

in #fakenews8 years ago

A long time ago the movie Running Man starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as a man who had been convicted of a crime he did not commit. A plot device in the movie was the ability of the media to fabricate video that showed whoever they wanted doing anything the video editors wanted to show them doing, in real time.

This software works in real time. The video can show whatever facial expressions the video editors want on the real subjects.

This is exactly the capability central to the Running Man 'false flag' evidence used to convict Schwarzenegger's character, and sentence him to death. Relatively trivial additions of whole body movement, and audio are all that's needed to create video of subjects doing any actions editors wish to show.

Let me repeat. Any person can be mapped in real time video to show them committing any crime or undertaking any action the video editors want to show. Video evidence, even real time 'live' video, isn't evidence anymore. It can be completely faked.

It is hard to overestimate the consequences of this technology, but The Running Man is a pretty good start. I suggest that the only way presently to combat this ability to make us see things that never happened is in the case that multiple live streams exist showing two different actions. It may be, temporarily, possible to ascertain the truth when there are multiple streams of video, some unaltered.

We can no longer believe our eyes, unless we have compound eyes.
