Peace is at the heart of God’s will. In the Bible, after every battle in Israel, God commanded a burnt offering as a symbol of peace following conflict (Leviticus 7:11-15).
Jesus reminds us, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). God values peace so much that He blesses anyone who actively brings it wherever they go.
It’s surprising how we call ourselves Christ-like yet often struggle to reflect His peaceful nature. We are taught in Matthew 5:39, “If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other also.” This teaching calls us to respond with peace, even in the face of conflict.
Living peacefully is not foolishness—it’s part of following Christ. By emulating His ways, we experience the blessings of a peaceful life. But when we engage in fights, riots, or violence, someone always suffers or loses something. Peace protects us and those around us.
Let’s strive to be ambassadors of peace wherever we are. Following God’s commandments brings rewards, and when we live in peace, the blessings ultimately belong to us (Romans 12:18).
