When God created the universe, everything He made was perfect, beautiful, and full of goodness. The world was designed to overflow with love, joy, and peace. Yet Scripture teaches that harmony was disrupted when sin entered creation. When Satan rebelled and was cast out of heaven, darkness touched what had once been flawless. From that moment, evil began influencing the hearts of humanity, pulling many away from God’s commandments and the loving principles He established for our well-being. Though Jesus Christ came to redeem the world, evil still lingers because the human heart continues to wrestle with sin.
The Bible reminds us, through the story of Job, that God sometimes permits trials and even encounters with evil. These moments are not meant to destroy us but to refine and strengthen our faith. Just as gold is purified through fire, our character is shaped through adversity. God is never the author of wickedness, yet He allows certain challenges so that His power can be revealed in our weakness. He promises that we will not be tested beyond what we can bear, and that He will provide the strength we need to endure.
Evil persists because humanity lives in a fallen world, but it does not have the final word. Through Christ, we have hope, victory, and the assurance that darkness will ultimately be overcome by light. As believers, we are called to stand firm, resist temptation, and remain vigilant in our faith. This requires intentional living—guarding our hearts, choosing righteousness over compromise, and distancing ourselves from influences that lead us away from God’s truth.
Staying close to God through prayer, studying His Word, and walking in obedience protects us from the grip of sin. When we lean on His guidance, we discover that even in a world touched by evil, we can live with peace and purpose. Our faith becomes a light that shines in the darkness, pointing others toward hope.
Though evil exists, it is temporary. God’s goodness is eternal. In all things, let us remain faithful, trusting that the One who began a good work in us will carry it to completion.
