The first time my husband refused to eat with the lights on,I
brushed it off. Maybe he just didn't like being watched. I thought I knew everything about him -his past, his habits, his secrets. But there was one thing I never knew about him.. His obsession with eating in the dark.
Slowly, I began to notice how strange it really was. Every time I served dinner, he would quietly stand, walk to the switch... and turn the lights off. After eating, he would switch them back on... and act like nothing had happened. Sometimes, as he ate in the darkness, I heard noises that made my skin crawl. Spoons scraping too hard against the plate.. Breathing that wasn't his... Whispers I couldn't explain.
One evening, I finally asked:
"Honey.. why do you prefer eating in the dark?"
He leaned closer, his face barely visible in the gloom.
"Let's not talk about it. Just leave the lights off, okay?" "But eating in darkness,I--"
Before I could finish, he cut me off. His voice softened as he looked at my belly. "Are you... are we expecting our first child?" I was only a month pregnant. The thought of becoming a mother softened me I touched my tummy and smiled, and just like that, the question faded.
We spent the evening dreaming about names, plans, and the
future. But his strange habit never stopped. Always darkness. Always those chilling sounds. Until one night, I decided I couldn't take it anymore. If I turned the lights on while he was eating, maybe then... I'd finally know the truth. I stood, heart pounding, and slowly reached for the switch. My hand trembled.
Then came his voice Low. Heavy. Almost shaking.
"Don't turn the lights on. Don't try it.'
But I had endured enough I needed to see. And so, I flipped the switch, What I saw made my blood run cold.
Hope you enjoyed the story? Would you have listened or would you switch the lights on?

I think that faced with such a strange custom, I wouldn't even have dared to marry that person, and if I did end up getting married, seeing how strange the matter and the sounds are, I would surely get a divorce and leave.
I definitely concur with you, I can't live with such fear
