What Is The Biggest Obstacle To Blockchain Based Gaming In 2019?
Today I won myself an Epic summoner and a Gold card from @steemmonsters and I even leveled up one of my Gold cards. I'm fairly satisfied with the performance specially since there is going to be Gold only battles from this year on.
But we don't see much adoption despite the games actually being good. @steemmonsters actually takes a lot of its ideas from massively grossing behemoths like Clash Royale. What are the obstacles for their popularity?

Online games require databases, using Steem as a database is slow and theres no easy way to effectively use it as a database without an outside database referencing where it is on Steem, which kinda defeats the point lol
Until there is an easy way to store and retrieve with minimal latency gaming isn't really a good option on Steem.

I don't think I understand the real value either but I would love to get on it when I can spend less Steem to buy a starter pack!

This game is bloody expensive. A full deck (regular beta cards) cost is close to $2000.

I played with starter pack and no extras from my game account. After losing ten games in a row, I decided to call it a night .
Most ccg a beginner pack will at least allow 2-3 wins out of 10 in ranked play at bottom tier, but since all you do is choose cards and lineup, there is no room for the occasional win sure to misplay. The beginner pack doesn't even allow a full roster!
An obvious quick solution would be somebody in lowest league gets put in 10-15 mana cap games instead of 22-25 and consistently having fewer cards than opponent.
It really seems like no thought at all was put into the onboarding experience of new players in later meta game.
