The deadline to participate in the initiative of creating accessories with buttons is almost over, but I didn't even want to miss this opportunity to share with you a simple work taking into account the given theme.
I'm a true defender of the environment, so recycling is one of my passions when I set out to create something, and this time it was no different. I had some clothes that I didn't wear and I decided to use some of them for today's project.
It was a blouse with long sleeves and at the end of the sleeve there was a cuff with two buttons.

Casi finaliza el plazo para participar en la iniciativa de la creación de accesorios con botones, pero ni quería dejar pasar esta oportunidad para compartir con ustedes un trabajo sencillo teniendo en cuenta la temática dada.
Yo soy fiel defensora del medio ambiente, por tanto reciclar es una de mis pasiones cuando me dispongo a crear algo y esta vez no fue diferente. Tenía una ropa apartada que no usaba y decidí aprovechar parte de ella en el proyecto de hoy.
Era una blusa con mangas largas y al final de la manga tenía un puño con dos botones.
I came up with the idea of making hanging earrings with the fabric of the cuffs, placing the buttons in their centres and adding an accessory in sewing threads.

Se me ocurrió hacer unos aretes colgantes con la tela de los puños, poniendo en sus centros los botones y agradarle un accesorio en hilos de coser.

- Dark blue recycled fabric
- Two medium white buttons
- Light grey sewing thread

On a piece of cardboard I drew a five-petal flower as a pattern. I cut it out and marked it twice on the blue fabric that was doubled as part of the cuff of the blouse.
Sobre un pedazo de cartulina dibujé como patrón una flor de cinco pétalos. La recorté y la marqué dos veces sobre la tela azul que estaba doble por formar parte del puño de la blusa.
I cut out the two flowers. I basted them together to hold the fabrics and a reinforcement fabric that was inside the cuff.
Recorté las dos flores. Las hilvané para mantener fijas las telas y una tela de refuerzo que estaba dentro del puño.
Using grey thread to create a contrast and to serve as embellishments, I sewed the fabrics that make up each of the flowers with scalloped stitch.
Con hilo gris para crear un contraste y que sirviera de adornos, cosí las telas que conforman cada una de las flores con puntada festón.
Then I took the buttons that have four holes in them and passed the needle and thread through them several times in all directions to cover the holes as if they were stuffing. Then I sewed them in the centre of each flower.
Luego tomé los botones que tienen cuatro huecos e hice pasar la aguja con el hilo a través de ellos varias veces y en todas direcciones para cubrir los huecos como si fuera un relleno. Después los cosí en el centro de cada flor.
On the toilet paper tube I wound 25 turns of thread. I took it out of the tube, tied it on one side and cut the opposite side of the circle of threads. Then with a double strand of 50 centimetres long I tied the central part of the threads tightly together in a single bundle.
Sobre el tubo de papel higiénico enrollé 25 vueltas de hilo. Saqué del tubo, amarré por un lado y corté el lado opuesto del círculo de hilos. Luego con una hebra doble de 50 centímetros de largo até bien la parte central de los hilos uniéndolos todos en un mismo mazo.
I sewed the thread harness to the flower and sewed the opposite end to the ring of the earring hook.
Cosí el mazo de hilo a la flor y por el extremo opuesto lo cosí a la argolla del anzuelo para aretes.

Tomorrow I plan to wear them to work, I think they will look good with my blue and white uniform. I've already tried them on and I like the way they flatter my face.
