St. Petersburg is an amazing city. Here, every street is like an open-air museum. The architecture of the buildings is so amazing that even people who are far from art unwittingly join this beauty, are soaked through with it and then carry this spark inside themselves, passing it on to their descendants.

In one of the museums I met such small works of ivory. The material has cracked from time to time, but even in this form, these sculptures are beautiful.

There are many sculptures in the Marble Palace. They are mostly part of the staircase decoration, but you can also find examples of ancient monumental art inside the museum.

Those statues are very impressive. I wonder how long does it took to build them assuming that the creator uses only chisel and hammer.
It is interesting that the masters were able to do this even in ancient times.
