🇮🇹 Rome has greeted us with the best hospitality like no place before - 🏠 Rome Apartment rental review

We planned our trip to Rome and headed for 3 days in Rome. Wanted to book a hotel, but could not find a good value for money. So we changed our search from booking.com to Airbnb.com and we have never regretted that choice.

Our stay was planned from 21 of April 2018 - 23 of April 2018. These days are pretty busy because 21 of April is the birthday of Rome (2,771st birthday to be exact).

Renting an apartment in Rome is something magical because you feel like you are actually a citizen of Rome unlike renting a room at a Hotel. Living in an apartment means that you are living near locals in their natural habitat sort of thing.

So we have found the following offer for the entire apartment called Roman House, here is the link to the listing on Airbnb by the way. It is hosted by Liri a very friendly woman, who has never disturbed us during the whole stay. If you have never used Airbnb use this link to register so that you get $31 travel credit and I will get $15 - register link.

Video review of the Apartment (in Russian)

In this video you will see the whole apartment inside. Wanted to film outside as well but the memory finished...

Cost to rent

So here goes, the apartment cost us just $131 for two people for 3 days, so about $20 per day per person. That is very good value for money. This apartment has a lovely bedroom, nice and neat kitchen, two big balconies and a good bathroom. Most of the hotels started out from $30, but they were either really low rating hotels or looked not that great. On Airbnb, you could find other great deals from $15, but we personally liked this one for many reasons. Location, price, photos, neighbourhood.

Overview of the apartment

As we have just entered the apartment we noticed a nice sweet rose smell. This was the cent of smelling sticks dropped in a perfume, something very popular in Rome. You can find all kind of smells in stores and can bring it as souvenirs.

Next thing we noticed is that the place was extremely tidy and clean. The bedroom had many pillows and a very soft bedclothes. Floors in hallway and bedroom were made from marble, wooden floors in the kitchen and the whole place looks like a top priced hotel room.

Bonuses by the host

As soon as we entered the kitchen we noticed that it was equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine with 8 portions of coffee for our 3 day stay. There were toasts, jam, coffee, milk, 3 bottles of water, and the host also brought us a lovely cake. I have never seen such thought through hospitality. Liri, thank you very much, you have really set very high standards for our future hosts for upcoming travels.

After going to the store for fruit this is what we got :)

Lunch with Limoncello and sandwitches

This was our second meal in the apartment when we discovered a loverly store just across the street where we bought some meat (Prosciutto Jamón Serrano), bread, cheese and Limoncello. Limoncello is a traditional liquor made only from lemons and sugar 30% alcohol. It should be chilled to -5 ℃ or 23 ℉ before drinking, we also added some ice and it was just amazing, like nothing you have ever tasted before.

The neighbourhood

I think that this apartment is in a perfect location. You fill find 3 grocery stores, 2 pizzerias, 2 cafes, park, fitness club, pharmacy, and a metro station all in 1-5 minutes walk. At the same time it is really quite and peaceful. Just 1 minutes walk there is a place to get your plastic bottles filled with fresh water. From Rebibbia Metro station you will get to the city center in only 15 minutes, we actually counted. So it is really convenient.

How to say good bye to the apartment

Liri, the host, told us that when we leave we only need to leave the keys in the hall and close the door without locking it. We have only seen her ones, when we entered the apartment. Very convenient and easy, much easier that in a hotel.

Here is the map

Thank you for reading

Will do a detailed review of the places we have visited with my wife. Rome is beautiful and would like to share it with you to motivate you to go there.

I really would love to go to Rome. We are hoping to go this year still!

You will love it! I will post about more places we visited, hopefully you will get some ideas as where to go. One cool thing for planning trips I really used all the time is Google Trips. That thing is amazing, it automatically loads your flight and hotel reservation from gmail so that you have everything in front of you including offline map and proposes many places you can visit.

If you have never used Airbnb use this link to register so that you get $31 travel credit and I will get $15

Few weeks ago a friend of mine came to visit and used Airbnb for accommodation, and she was very satisfied. So I thought, "I should sign up and try it someday".

Signed up few minutes ago with your invite link :-), got 25€ of credits (to be spent before a year if I spend more than 65€, just to be detailed)

Thank you for your detailed information and for signing up with the link, hope you enjoy traveling with airbnb. I traveled to Bali with Airbnb and was also very satisfied.
