BE NOT VAIN IN YOUR IMAGINATION

in #sc-v7 years ago

Romans 1:21-32- KJV:Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them
.

Its quite unfortunate that some Christians just wake up to make up some wild and scripturally unsubstantiated postulations about God or how Christians ought to live or behave.
They arrogantly push aside some serious biblical teachings and practices, simply because they feel they now know the Correct Truth.

Paul wrote about those kind of people because he had them in mind.
He wrote: "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they become fools".

Have you heard what God said about human imagination after the fall of Adam?
God himself discovered that 'every imagination of thoughts of his heart was only evil continually' (Gen 6:5).

The only two basis experiences that can change this in a man is that of salvation and sanctification.
With these, the Holy Spirit takes up a functional position in a man so that beyond a sanctified imagination free from the Adamic nature and corruption, there is inspiration.

Inspiration is not imagination. Inspiration is of the Holy Spirit. The Bible was written by inspired men and only inspired people can properly interpret it.

You see, a highly educated and intelligent person has the capacity to imagine and birth all kinds of ideas. You see, for instance, the men that designed and began the tower of Babel were highly imaginative people, but the product of their imagination was an insult to God.

Do you take heed concerning your imaginations?
Are you saved and sanctified?
Be sure of these before you begin to forcefully push out some strange fires in the name of New Generation Christianity
Do not be vain in your imaginations!
