Reflection Hunters It’s been a while!!! So here we go again.

I love all the contests on hive. It’s such an awesome community building tool and I love the fact that absolutely anyone can join in the fun. It was a real game changer when I joined the hive and helped me to find my place and make some friends.

Anyway... just a little plug for contests.

Last week I went for a walk along the coastal boardwalk with my son. It’s an old favourite for my family over the many many years.

my son in 2015

It took some digging through my Facebook archives but I eventually found what I was looking for. It’s an old photo from 2015 of my son when he was 9 years old. He took a long run up and then ran/climbed up the wall as high as he possibly could! ( I guess today it would be the beginnings of parkour) Now you need to know that he was always tiny for his age so this wall is definitely well over 6ft high. I know there’s no reflection there so bare with me. Last weekend we did that walk again.

still no reflection

Pretty close right? These days he’s overtaken me and I’m officially the shortest one in my immediate family. Running the wall is a heck of a lot easier these days. Growing a foot in a year will do that. He has literally shot passed me in height between the start of the whole corona story and this year!!! It pretty scary what 1 year can do. My daughter was always the opposite, super tall for her age, towering above all the boys in her school classes. But she better watch out because Seth is coming for her. Any day now he will over take her too.

But wait for it....

my reflection Hunter entry!!!

There it is!!!

We just happened to catch his reflection in the rainy puddle in one of the early shots. And check the rain puddle in the throw back shot!!! Same place as so many years ago. He would die if he knew I was posting this but a Momma can’t resist!!!

I could do some more cropping to make it more similar to the throwback but I love the composition and depth in the last one. It’s not often that this mom gets any photos of my son so I consider these couple an honour to have captured.

This entry is dedicated to my teenage son Seth. (My legend gamer, homeschooler, putter of the bin out every Tuesday.)

Hope you had fun with us! We will have to try this again in another 6 years.

(You can’t just post a reflection and not give some backstory 🤪)
