Yes, it was. He is at the age when wakes are about the only time you see a lot of your friends together in one place. My Dad was friends with the guy since first grade.
WOW thats a long Friendship, with all my traveling i have lost contact with most of my friends from my school days
and yes that is something that comes with Age I remember my father saying similar many years ago
