This would be a great incentive to purchase and power up STEEM if STEEMIT would Distribute 50% of Advertising Revenue proportionately with the amount of STEEM POWER an account has .
This is just something to give some considerable thought to as how this could increase the demand for STEEM to be powered up .

Ok I know what everyone is thinking Steemit ad revenue is but a fraction of Facebook and Steemit will never be as large as Facebook and I agree . But think about this, Facebook reported advertising revenue at $16.6 billion for the final quarter of last year , now take that times 4 = 66.4 billion dollars last year in advertising revenue . What if Steemit reached just 1% of Facebook advertising revenue that would be 664 million dollars . Now lets divide 664 million dollars by 2 = 332 million dollars to get the 50% to be Distributed proportionately with the amount of STEEM POWER an account has . At present July 14 , 2019 there is 197,938,955 Steem that is powered up in Steem Power so lets divide 332 million dollars by 197,938,955 Steem Power to get the amount each Steem Power would receive from Steemit ad revenue . And the number is $1.68 for every Steem Power an account has . Lets say an account has 5000 Steem Power therefore this account would receive $8,400 dollars worth of new Steem Power .
Steemit currently has around 1,292 000 accounts that is just 0.085% of Facebook accounts just under 1/10th of 1%
I know Steemit is nowhere close to being 1% of Facebook at this time .
In my opinion Steemit needs to do something to get new interest and investment in this platform and what better way than to have more than just curation and posting for an account to make money on Steemit and I believe this proposal could very well be what is needed to get new interest and investment in Steemit
Ads are a frontend/UI issue not a blockchain one. If a Frontend wants to share ad revenue then it should be to users of that frontend rather than all SP holders on the blockchain. And, if user's don't like the ad policy and revenue sharing in one Frontend They can go to another.
Even with revenue sharing, I doubt there'd be enough to bother.
