in #alcohol4 years ago

Over the last few days Kerala has been witnessing unprecedented interest about creation of a mobile application to book slots to buy Alcohol. The tiny state of 33 million inhabitants are very successfully tackling Covid-19, bracing impact of the monsoon and meanwhile getting their booze back.

This minuscule app is deployed on a "auto-saleable super computing" cluster and claimed to be tested to withstand a load of zillion curious and eager minds. Google trends shows every other living soul is searching for the yet to be published "BevQ app"

Now, Please don't mistake us. We are only finding means to fund the government. We have special disaster relief funds and donation mechanisms but as per TUW (The University of Whatsapp), those have tax cuts resulting in lesser payments to the the needy. The highly spiritual people are thus using this trick to directly deliver funds to the state government via liquor shops. For every 1000 Rupees worth purchase, 772 is directly credited to the Covid-19 and other disaster relief funds.

But, we are still eagerly waiting for the higher powers to fully experience this spiritual experience ...

This is indeed a great step taken by our government.

A similar event happened in Tamilnadu as well where a big load of money was collected on the first day of opening liquor sales. It's great that you created an app for the booking. I'm wondering if this would be helpful for TN as well because the end-user may not have any abilities to make use of apps.
