Anarcho-capitalism

in #anarchy6 years ago (edited)

The world, which is now significantly regulated – or directly controlled – by the state, could work if it was influenced just by a free market, without violence and forcing people. The world that would be based on the voluntary behavior of free people.

Introduction

In recent months and years, I have written many articles, comments and arguments, by which I mostly glorify and defend freedom and criticize its opposite – the state. The reactions of you, the readers, are various. Especially lately, I have more and more responses from you and I encounter with a legitimate criticism that I write more negativistically and criticize more than I come up with solutions. But I also meet many people who think I should write more about non-state society. Based on both types of comments, I have decided to write a book, in which I would like to bring readers closer to the possible form of stateless society, and to show that the idea of the society of free people without repressive authorities is not so absurd as it might seem at the first sight (Initially, I perceived it as an absurd idea, too.)

Anarcho-capitalism, which is based on the utter inviolability of private property and whose highest value is freedom together with its inseparable responsibility. Anarcho-capitalists believe that everyone should live freely until he voluntarily renounces his freedom; and that no one has the right to rule the other without an explicit approval. Unlike other anarchist schools, which mostly care about the personal freedom of an individual, anarcho-capitalism defends economic freedom just as much as the personal one; the reason is the conviction that the suppression of economic freedom leads to the restriction of personal freedom (and vice versa).

Anarcho-capitalists from the absolute inviolability of property rights derive, using their logic, all their view of the world. For example, all “human rights” are derived just from the property rights (for instance, the right to life arises from the fact that one owns oneself and if somebody kills him, this property right will be disrupted). Another fundamental pillar of anarcho-capitalist thinking is the so-called principle of non-aggression, according to which no one can initiate violence against others. It is not difficult to see that even the principle of non-aggression arises from the inviolability of property rights. Moreover, the essence of freedom itself, the highest of anarcho-capitalistic values, lies in the ability of everyone to do with his property (which typically includes his body) what he wants, which is, by the way, the highest possible degree of freedom that can be applied for everyone (the higher degree of freedom for some people must be at the expense of others).

In today’s society, there is one type of organization that strongly opposes anarcho-capitalist principles. The states. They are disrespectful to the property rights of individuals, which are grossly violated – by laws that regulate how one can build his own house on his own land or by taxes – day after day, they just desecrate their freedom. For this reason, the anarcho-capitalists perceive states as a root of the most of current evil.

Because they convinced us about the necessity of the state and the rightness of democracy in state-run schools in our early age, when our mind and opinions has just begun to form, I write these articles against these claims. But my adversaries have one huge advantage; they started earlier, and they had already put into minds of the majority of people that the thoughts I am advocating are absurd, unreal and undesirable. Hand on heart: How many of you, dear readers, are already approaching negatively to the idea of a stateless society? And how many of you, who are doing so, were unprejudiced and seriously studying this thought for a while? I know many will reject this text; however, I would ask you not to argue with the basic “arguments” of the type: “Everybody knows that it would not work”. But argue after a mature – and maybe uninterested – consideration.

On the following lines I would like to tell you approximate structure of this series. The first four parts describe the general principles of the free market and compare central planning with the market economy. In other parts, the several domains of our lifes will be discussed (one after another), which are held in the violent and greedy hands of the state – such as education and healthcare – and some possible alternatives, of how these services could be provided by free people in a free market without a participation of governments, will be described.

Any such alternative should show how the society could work on the basis of voluntary activities of individuals who are not being ruled by anyone; then I will try to show that we don’t need anyone to rule us, to decide for us, and whom we should be subjected to. I will also try to prove, why the claims about the need of governments are only means of powerful people to keep their subjects in the illusion of needing them, because otherwise they would all change into a bloodthirsty beasts.

At the same time, it should be remembered that if I mention some alternative of providing certain services without a state intervention, I definitely do not say that this is the only possible non-state way. It is absurd to assume that none of the millions of entrepreneurs would come with a better providing of the service than the mine (than that what could a handful of the best politicians come up with); just imagine what did this world look like only a hundred years ago, and how the great ideas and work of many people surpassed the assumptions of the most optimistic visionaries of that time.

And if you think about who were those who have pushed our civilization so far forward, you will see that they were not – with exceptions – officials or politicians, but mostly the people pursuing their own interests; especially for the dissemination of technologies and inventions among the general public and the financial availability “for everyone”, we can thank entrepreneurs who are often told that they are only watching their own profits. If we see such reproaches too often, it is easy to forget that their profits were made by creation of prosperity for society.

Of course, I understand that there are also many minarchists among libertarians who consider a minimal state to be necessary. Minarchists, please don’t take my articles as an attack on your opinions, but as an incentive to think; after all, we do not have to agree on everything, but I firmly hope that perhaps in one of the parts of this series you will find an explanation of why any area that you have so far believed should be managed by the state, may work better in the private hands of free people.

Dnešní článek dávám i s tagem česky.

I gotta say i am not a huge fan of the anarcho captalism ideas, but there is lots os merits in dicussing it.

Our society today is a big mess controled by very few people. And we definitly need to discuss alternatives.

What we have today is indeed a lot better than we had in the past (and in some places in present) but we definitly need some improvements.

Also, If possible, would be good to read about How anarcho captalism os different from libertarianism. It is still hard for me to understand the difference.

You can find out more about it if you read infowars. com or hear Alex Jones on Youtube. Love

i read it, and i dont think it is a good information source... too biased to my taste.
