An offer to the Anonymous group

in #anonymous8 years ago

Anonymous is a loosely associated international network of activist and hacktivist entities. A website nominally associated with the group describes it as "an Internet gathering" with "a very loose and decentralized command structure that operates on ideas rather than directives".

In my opinion, Steem is the right medium for exchange of information for Anonymous. This could bring many users to Steem and offer them the platform they need:

  • decentralized
  • censorship-resistant
  • open source

Even though I have no direct association with this group, I would like to offer access to the anonymous Steem account for posting.

Anyone that replies to this post

  • with convincing reasons why he or she should be able to post as user anonymous and
  • that can provide a public key (or an existing Steem account to extract a public key from)

will be granted posting access to this account. (I am unaware of any limitations regarding the maximum number of public keys that I can grant access to this account, but I am willing to find out.)

Anyone with connections to Anonymous, please feel free to forward this message to them.

I have discussed your proposal with the collective in AnonOps on IRC, the overwhelming majority of "Anons" want you to delete this account. As this "steemit" platform is for profit and Anonymous is not a profit seeking group, we highly suggest you delete this account. Thanks for holding it for the "Anonymous" collective but please delete this as requested; as "Anonymous" is not interested in joining Steemit as an "official group". Nor does anyone have the right to speak for the collective on their own. Thanks and please stop flagging and censoring content in the name of Anonymous. If you don't believe me, feel free to verify this comment by going on AnonOps and asking yourself: https://newblood.anonops.com/

Thanks and have a nice day!

This is totally not the Feds or anything... ROFL.

No member of the anon team would bother risking their alias nor identity to you.
If you're looking for a way into the group, going about it ass backwards... ;)

I am not even based in the U.S. :)

It seems, I didn't make myself clear enough. I am not asking to
expose identities, but provide some reasons that you should have
posting access to this account.

Still, it's just an offer ..

i'd love to but I doubt I'm good enough interesting enough or important enough. but heres a thought.though you'e probs already thought of it. share this to fb and twitter surely you reputable anonymous community would be interested in taking up the offer.? or If I see something good or write something good like that ill drop a mention to you in the post and you can share it as a source quote or like it or whatever. I'm super for the anonymous cause. or I wouldn't have taken up the name. god knows last thing I want is to be targeted by big pharma or the government because I'm pro cannabis and questioning everything we are taught about medicine and also using it as a person with chronic epilepsy.

This is an opportunity to hide if you are looking for? Or what?
Or for what?

And about public key are giving access to ur account is not good idea but hope you trust someone and give him a chance so he won't withdrawal ur steem and run away

It's your account, just use it as you see fit. I think your idea is interesting though.

Anonymous are good ppl trying to do the right thing

cool, scary though

sorry for the downvote. I have no fight with the group I don't like the people posting anonymously how would we verify reputation?

No need to be sorry.

As you may know, the people behind Anonymous are not interested in growing a reputation at all. They have their cyber-political goals and they try to achieve them as a collective, not as a set of reputable individuals.

But I see your point: How would I (as the sole administrator of the account) ensure that I give posting permissions to "the group".
As an alternative, I may as well publish a private key for it instead and let people use it for whatever reason.

That is a horrible idea. Mostly because you give control over the voting power of your account as well.

There is no organization called Anonymous. Any idiot that posts anything anonymously can technically claim that they are Anonymous until someone doxxes them, then they are no longer Anonymous, it is basically a troll that the media takes seriously.

There are hacking operations, there are hacktivists, but yes, there is no official organization structure. It's just a global collection of individuals who freely operate together on various hacking efforts, that anyone can join in on if they know where to look. It's more like a society with no command structure and no requirement for consensus on everything, just an underlying common creed. It's individuals cooperating through a cyber-marketplace of ideas, and anyone who claims leadership is a phony.

I like your idea, but I would be inclinated since you use it as "public" account to mention that maybe you would donate a part of the earnings of "anons posts" to wikileaks for example.

Good point. At least I can offer the liquid assets (SBD) paid out on
posts!

Thank you for the upvote man. Means a lot to me. Just when I think no one cares for me this helped the most. When I have my new camera I will try to make more pictures. Thank you :)

"Anonymous" has no leader, so unless the account was accessible by a multitude of hacktivists it just wouldn't make much sense to use it.

The cool thing about Steem's underlying technology is that it allows to
share access to the same account. All it takes for me is to add another
posting key to the account.

Hi. I just wanted to thank you, or whomever voted my intro article last week. It's been about a week now on the site and I am starting to have some enlightenement about it. Look forward to any advice you can share, as well.

Why not use it as a news source for anonymous related stories? I'm sure THEY will contact you eventually.
