June 18, 21: Routine, Polygon Stress, Solana Listing, Oculus, Laps, TV, and Games

Got an invite to what sounded like a fun app, like Pokémon Go but you earn cryptos…of course, Land of the Free:

Like I said a few days back, been getting involved with $GRAPE (Great Ape) on the Solana chain. Unfortunately, I hadn’t found a way to even get any! They were on CB, but the listing got delayed…until today:

Down quite a bit from where it was even recently, really want to get some, but my other cryptos are down hard as well and I don’t really want to sell them right now. Having a fiat inroad that actually works would be helpful.

I didn’t make any moves on Polygon yesterday, just let it sit and accrue for a day. Today FIRE got dumped on hard and so I tried to sell into USDC, but the network was messed up and my transactions just sat there as “processing” and then fired back as errors. Pisses me off that I have to pay a fee for a failed transaction, but at least it’s a tiny amount.

I did finally sell the FIRE I harvested and was more in USDC than I wanted to be, but I figured I’d be patient, get some FIRE back cheaper and then stake it into the forge.

Honestly, I still don’t really see any way for me to actually pull out any profit…I just continue to compound my risk and not actually get anything to show for it other than some locked LP tokens which I have no clue what their actual value is (basically zero if the liquidity drains, I guess).

The only way I see to get anything out is to do KYC, pay bridge fees to Ethereum, gas fees to send to the exchange, and then exchange fees to USD…poof, my $20 of so called income that I’ve incurred tax liability for vanishes to nothingness in fees (which Polygon was supposed to avoid).

It’s still early, though, perhaps in this case patience will be a virtue. 🤞 I might have to admit that at the end of the day it’s been more stressful than it’s been worth, but too early to tell at this point. Might feel better if I take some of the profit and put it to work on Aave, but again, that’s still risk on, not really getting anything out (plus incurring more liability). 😡😭

Other than that, just the usual morning stuff…or is stressing about DeFi the new morning routine? 😛 Been kinda’ thinking about selling some BCH for a capital loss to offset the income tax, but I don’t want to get caught by the end of a bear trap.

Did my post, mucked about on Discord, stared at the plants in the garden (‘cause that helps, you know 🤪) but I’m just trying to justify myself when, in all fairness, I did nothing all day except play Lies Beneath on the Oculus.

It definitely is a fun and intense game, worth the money for real. The audio is crazytown. The motion did end up getting to me a bit, though, got the sweats and stuff all of a sudden and figured I’d best call it a day.

In between playing Lies Beneath, I took a break and played Star Wars Pinball. 😆 Basically anything to avoid firing up the computer and getting to work. 😡

Snagged some leftover turkey tacos for dinner and we watched some tube before bedtime. I still had like 2800 steps left to go for the day, so a I did some laps and then hit the hay.

Didn’t get my Holybread tasks done either. I’m so negative on all these Hive games, not sure why I continue to mess with them.

Got knocked back a spot on the leaderboard but it still doesn’t make any difference.

One good thing that I was happy about was when I went in to CryptoBrewmaster to check my task, I thought I’d double check my inventory and the brew from yesterday was there. 🍺 So I instantly sold it. 😂

Got a couple more cards on Rising Star. Guess this is the one game that I haven’t gone foul on (yet 😝). Just working my way toward level fifteen as quickly as I can.
