When you run a high class joint like The Band Wagon, you don't want the high end clientele rubbing elbows with the riff raff. If your clothes don't indicate that you're well off, you get put behind the plants...

Heh, the character expressions are very well done in this page! I wonder what dialogue Mookie hears to get a face like that in panel 3!? Or is it just Little Jimmy's charming manners?
Haha, Mookie is very snide in panel 2, and Little Jimmy shuts him down in panel 3, much to Ruth's amusement
