Pictures of the Waxing Moon (30. May. 2023)

Hello everyone, I would like to welcome all readers to my new post and hope you had an exciting day! This evening I was outside and took some pictures of the waxing moon which I would like to share with the community.

I was lucky and the sky was relatively clear today which is of course the best requirement for moon photography. The next full moon is on June 3 which is also called strawberry moon and is associated with the zodiac sign Sagittarius. The name goes back to the Native Americans and is associated with the harvest time of the first strawberries, which are ripe from June.

The fact that the moon can influence people should be known to everyone, but the effect on the world of plants is also very interesting! Depending on the phase of the moon, it can have various influences and with waxing moon, the growth of plants that grow above ground is improved and plants that grow underground thrive best when they are sown when the moon is in the waning phase.

Full moon is good for pruning or harvesting fruits or vegetables and the waning phase is best for repotting or fertilizing. Even if gardening is very interesting after the different moon phases, you should of course always pay attention to the right weather conditions and don't relate everything to the moon cycle.

From an astrological and spiritual point of view, there are also some plants that are particularly connected to the moon. Moon plants are also often referred to as dream plants and are associated with the subconscious of the mind. The best known lunar plants are: valerian, elderberry, meadowsweet, crepe jasmine, iris, agar wood, pumpkin, daisy, watercress, cucumber, acanthus and common privet.

Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my new post about the current moon phase! I used my camera Sony Alpha 6000 and Sony SEL-55210 Telephoto Zoom Lens (55-210mm) to take these pictures.

Wow, what photos! And I missed everything(

Thank you :) You will certainly have good opportunities to see the moon in the coming days.

I was wondering if our forefathers used the moon to detect planting, fertilizing, and harvesting seasons alone but you cleared my doubts when you said

you should of course always pay attention to the right weather conditions and don't relate everything to the moon cycle.

Now, I know they did pay attention to the weather as well.

Thank you for sharing. All the best.

I’m glad to hear that you were able to learn something new and thank you for stopping by. I wish you the same and have a nice day :)

Now we can really shoot with our own camera what we used to see in the tv news or newspapers few decades back. Technology has made the time and space to get more explored.

I am pleased to hear your opinion on this topic.

The more plants we all plant, the better for all of us, the better our health will be. We all look forward to the third of June when the moon will be full because the whole moon looks so much more beautiful.

These are very inspiring words that I can only agree with. I had to spontaneously think of this good quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson — „The earth laughs in flowers.“ Thanks for stopping by and your nice feedback :)

Most welcome

Thanks a lot :)
