More New Art....

in #art2 years ago (edited)

Hello again !... or if for the first time... Welcome ! 🙂

Last week I told you that I was in the art buying mood and I showed you some photos of some flowers in a bucket on a chair. 😄 I still love it, but that was not all I bought. I bought two more very different pieces that same week, but this is not one of those. I just bought this one a couple days ago and it just got here today.

Again I found the art and Artist on Etsy. The artist's name is Marlina Vera and you can only guess that again, the bold colors snatched me in.

"They" say that Pablo Picasso and George Braque are credited for starting the cubism style painting. Most new styles were somewhat a rebellion I think. Much earlier it seems, if it wasn't realistic looking, it didn't count as art to the snooty art world. Pish ! Posh ! said a lot of other artists since then and they forged many new art trails.

The name of this one was "Selfie #3" Inspiring... right ? LOL... but that IS what it depicts, so it's all good. I almost dimissed it as an option when I first looked through her work. I am not a big selfie taker after all. I use to take some, but now I'm old and decrepit ... so.... anyway.... Somehow it grew on me though as I thought it was somewhat fun and funny how she took an old'ish type style and made it her own with fun colors and sometimes updated subjects.

It appears the woman is winking for her selfie. She must be out partying with the city lights in the background. I think she is going to send it to you. Such a big flirt !

It's kind of neat how the face is like 3 faces. The left side could nearly be peacefully meditating.

The right side awake and alert.... you just can't resist the green eyes, can you?

Oh wait, are you sure that's not just her profile? I hope not, because her noggin seems to be shaped like a quarter moon .... and I'm not sure the guys will find that attractive. LOL !

I think she is delightful all in all and in the real she is really a BRIGHT girl !! I am totally loving how colorful she is.

I think Pablo and George would be delighted that a style they helped pioneer has been adjusted, expanded, brightened and is still carrying on.

This girl is going to add a lot of happy to this house and who knows, I may have another later.

Ok... that's all for this one. I'll show you the other two I bought before too long.

Monday ! I was SO glad for the working part of this day to be over. It was a weird feeling kind of day, although I can't really explain why. But...now that I've shown you the fun art that came today, I think I will go to the kitchen and see what I can come up with for supper !

Love you !

Jacey

I will try when I get off work. One time when I clicked on the button that looks like I can talk, it gave me a message something about Peak did not support it. I'll try again this evening.

Update:.. .it says beechat doesn't support hivesigner format. :)

This one is really clever and colorful. I like it!

Thank ya !

I am enjoying having it around.

She is not at all my style, and yet I like her a lot. I like your taste.

Thanks !

A lot of cubie things are not my style either, well, if I really have a style... Bright colors make my brain spark, so of course that drew me into this artist's work. I had fun looking through her other pieces and before it was over, I found myself ordering one !

She is in Florida !

Makes sense she is Floridian. We Floridians do like our bright sunset colors and our abundant green :)

Supper? Yummy. What did you have? I did some beef rib fingers . Oh. My! They were good.

I like the sameness of her style to Pablo but she made it her own, literally. Where are we going to hang it?

hi !

I had potato skins that had cheese and bacon in them. They were frozen and I had never had them from the grocery store, so I decided to try them. They weren't too shabby tasting for frozen.

This piece was one of her simpler ones. Some of the others had more elements that made their cubiness more promenent. I liked some that were more expensive, but kind of wanted to see her work up close and personal before deciding whether to spend a higher price on a second piece. It wasn't cheap, but compared to some others I admired, it cost less.

New paintings get to hang around my work desk so that I can see them and draw some happiness from them while I am working. After a time, they may stay there or they may go somewhere else in the house. I never quite know, till the brain says it is time. LOL ~!

TGIFriday's used to be the best place ever to get them. Nom! I can taste them now.

I agree with buying anything on the internet, but, at least she is a bona fide artist. :) I do like her work and I like to find new people to hang around with. I like your choice of art, something a little off-center and exceedingly happy! Much like yourself. I say a little off-center because you are not the typical run-of-the-mill person I run into every day. Or any other day... Do you realize that I have known you for... let's see...fifteen years? Is that possible?

I am making a big pot of spaghetti sauce with sausage, meatballs and pieces of pork from some pulled pork leftovers. So it is rich in meat and tasty to boot.

I have no idea what I am rambling about. Just stopped over to revist the piece of art. tell you how kick butt it is and move on. :)

See Ya!

There is more where that one came from. Even if it's not your style, you might enjoy looking through her other colorful pieces.
