Summoning,

in #art4 years ago

Summoning is the first piece in my Warped series, in which i explore ways to bring my paintings into digital world through various of ways of editing and animation and also making some sounds to go with them. In the first three i've used app called Photomosh to begin the transformation, which is quite an easy way to make some great effects. While waiting for the Pro version, there is some extra work that has to be done in order to make things look good in higher resolutions. I've also done some tweaking to make the animations work loop more smoothly.

The music came pretty late in the game when i decided to switch to video format. Music is something i've not been playing around with much and i'm pretty much clueless when it comes to the theory side, notes and such. but I did enjoy making these sounds come out and i thought it ended up working good with the whole, producing this dark captivating mood. Now, making it all synchronize to some degree was quite a challenge as well but i did enjoy it all, learning new things as i go.

The painting i chose to alter first was, Lumen, one of my favourites. It has been around; i think in physical form it's been on like 3 exhibitions and in print form you may have seen it at Steemfest art. There was a mental hurdle to start making these alterations, it just felt weird in away as if i was abanodoning the original, though it still exists and i consider this a completely new work. I'm pretty pleased how it came out.

Lumen was basically a screen, view into the abstract ocean that is the internet, with its ups and downs, virtues and vices that come with it. In Summoning that idea is still there but instead of a screen, i think its becoming more of a portal that is sucking us more viscerally in to the cyberworld. I hope you enjoy this new form and I would love the hear what are your thoughts on it.
