Pinto's runners with ten Gold
In this article we will refresh some memories of the first Asian Games. Asian Games have begun on August 18 in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia's capital, and these games will run until September 2.
Indian runner emerged as Levi Pinto star. Pinto won gold medal in 200 meters after winning gold medal in men's 100 meters race. He became the first Indian to win two gold medals. Athletes won Pinto with a total of 10 gold medals. KP thakkar wins a gold in driving And the Indian football team also became a golden champion.
Naag Gives India First Gold Medal In Swimming
Swimmer Sachin Nag gave India the first gold in these games by winning Gold Medal in the 100 m freestyle event on the third day of the Games. Nag then won the Bronze Medal in the 4 x 100 m relay.
First host India
India got the distinction of hosting the first Asian Games. Although the games were to be held in the 1950s according to the pre-determined schedule, but due to delay in preparation, they were delayed till 1951. These games were inaugurated at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium by Dr Rajendra Prasad, India's first President.
Asian Games First Gold, Swimmer Neo Names
Singapore's swimmer Neo Chiveau Coke won the first gold medal in the history of Asian Games. He occupied four gold medals of the freestyle competition (400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, 4x100 meters relay).
