A recent blow to the propaganda against Julian Assange has been the words from the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Nils Melzer. He was set to visit Assange at the Embassy in April, but with the termination of Assange's asylum and subsequent arrest the visit was rescheduled for the prison.
Below are some quote from Melzer which is pretty damning of the justice system, but also of society in general. Democracy has failed to protect the individual as an engineered public consciousness was created to demonize Assange. This led to a pervasive psychological toture, according to Melzer.
UN Special Rapporteur on torture: “In 20 years..I have never seen a group of democratic States ganging up to deliberately isolate, demonise and abuse a single individual for such a long time and with so little regard for human dignity and the rule of law”
For the record: I never said I considered #JulianAssange „a bad actor“ but that, initially, I had been affected by the same misguided smear campaign as everybody else, and only saw the real facts once I investigated in detail
"He [Assange]"shows all the signs that are typical for person who has prolonged exposure to psychological torture, including extreme stress, chronic anxiety and intense psychological trauma," - Nils Melzer, U.N. special rapporteur on torture
"There has been a relentless and unrestrained campaign of public mobbing, intimidation and defamation against Mr Assange, not only in the United States, but also in the United Kingdom, Sweden and, more recently, Ecuador."
“There’s no chance he’ll get a fair trial in the U.S.,” Melzer said. “That’s where I draw the line.”
“But [Assange] is really something I’ve never seen in 20 years,” Melzer said. “I’ve seen atrocities in war areas that were physically more horrible but I’ve never seen a single person pursued so relentlessly and with so little foundation.
But as I've said before, this could be psychotropic drug torture. The news of the degraded mental state that is being related to as psychological torture from the political and media systems around us, is based on trying to come to conclusions that are based on what has been publicly released about Assange.
The way I see it, is that Melzer concluded psychological torture because some kind of torture has to be the reason. And since there is no admission by authorities of any private torture in prison, via psychotropic drugs or otherwise, Melzer can only conclude it's psychological torture and trauma.
To me, other torture is more realistic to render Assange into the reported state he is in now. Psychological torture just doesn't seem to cut it, although it's possible, I doubt it's just that.
In the second quote above, you can see the effective propaganda that is admitted by Melzer. He too fell for the herd mentality group think to hate Assange, like most of the populace falls into. The smearing of Assange is a perfect example of herd mentality, group think and conformity to consensus. No one is actually understanding what Assange did and that he's being targeted for spreading the truth as if it's a crime. Assange is being treating worse than murders.
The words of the UN Special Rapporteur on torture are a good message to help wake people up to the false reality and spell they are under regarding Assange. Like him, they too can realize the deception and wake up to reality. They too can start to think for themselves by looking into the truth of the matter, rather than gobbling up the engineered mainstream narrative fed by the authorities.
