Beer blogging came naturally to me due to years spent brewing for myself, working with breweries on their technology & marketing, and the decades spent imbibing. Hence, the self-decreed title of the #Blockchain #Beerologist doing my best to consume, report and even brew to do that title justice.
This week, I am kicking off my campaign to get back to daily content creation with some beers from my most recent trip. Vegas Beers!
Shorty of the Week
the Shorty of the Week is generally a showcase of something special in my fridge that is local, and smaller than the big cans for those times when a half-pint will do. This one is a little different as I enjoyed it in Vegas at Hell's Kitchen for a special meal. "Can I get you a drink?" I usually ask what they have on tap that is local, and hope there is a good answer with IPA in it. Either way, I am generally into something I haven't tasted before like this one from Big Dogs Brewing Company https://www.bigdogsbrews.com/
Big Dogs Craft Lager https://untappd.com/b/big-dog-s-brewing-company-las-vegas-craft-lager/207290 is a pretty good beer and one that @davedickeyyall might love if we were to drop a #hive celebrity visit on them in Vegas. I am seeing IPAs, doubles and even a triple there so we would probably both find something tasty. The venue is Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen Vegas https://www.caesars.com/caesars-palace/restaurants/hells-kitchen which I owe you a review on...stay tuned this week for that tasty adventure.
Cryo Stash!
After a few vastly overpriced beers in the different restaurants and casinos (didn't drinks use to be free?!?) I was ready for something a little more reasonably priced. We hit the strip for some of our 50k+ @actifit steps and a CVS saved us.
Cryo Stash Imperial IPA https://www.hopvalleybrewing.com/beer/cryo-stash/ may not be your typical beer to bring along on a long walk for most folks. It was perfect for us at only a couple bucks and a nice big size to match the big taste.
I figured it might also look fancy with some colourful slot machines as the backdrop and I was right. So nice to be able to buy a beer at a store, crack it open to drink on a sidewalk, then bring it into any casino you can find. Damn yummy beer too.
Good Ol' Sierra Nevada!
Back at the dawn of my glorious slide into IPA obsession was a beer most people know from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company https://sierranevada.com/ Their Pale Ale was tasty and approachable enough to make its wide availability a saving grace for people looking to ween off bullshit watery national brands. It is the only one that makes it up this far north and I actually find it on tap some places.
Hazy Little Thing IPA https://sierranevada.com/beer/hazy-little-thing-ipa/ was definitely a nice surprise and a perfect date for another walk on the strip. Click that link to see how cool yet simple a beer webpage can be. This hazy one is a blend of 6 hops so it is a bit noisy. When Mosaic, Citra and El Dorado hops are part of the mix, I know it is most likely right up my alley. I am loving these pint cans which are slightly bigger than the ones we have up here. Gives you a bonus sip of the hazy hoppy goodness.
Blonde!
With beers so surprisingly expensive in the casinos I visited, I opted to buy some room beers from the pimp-filled discount beer outlet and put them on ice in the room. I surprisingly didn't get a picture of the Founder's Brewing All Day IPA https://foundersbrewing.com/our-beer/all-day-ipa/ I enjoyed a few of. I won a little wife points by also picking up a nice blonde for the room.
Revision Brewing https://revisionbrewing.com/ is another Nevada brewer and the Blonde NV was a hit with the beer-loving women. I sneaked the last one for myself and could definitely crush one of these after mowing the lawn. Nice backdrop of Caesars Palace for those of you who need to put a place to a beer.

Woohoo! I guess that you had a great time in vegas Zeke! I saw lots of fancy beers this time but I wouldn't expect less from Vegas. Also, I am really waiting for the Hell's kitchen post! Great content as always mate!
