Some pictures of the Grey Heron

I already had a lot of opportunities where I could watch and take pictures of the Grey Heron. Because they can be found all over Austria where there is a bit more water, like in the wetlands of the Danube, the Inn River or in a Water Park in Vienna I was able to take pictures of this big bird in different locations. But still i have to admit that in Vienna they are not shy at all, and you can get pretty close, the other birds at the Inn River or in the Wetlands of the Danube in Linz are pretty shy, and you can't get as close as in these pictures.

At this Island in a Park in Vienna they are really not bothered by the humans that visit this park and the herons even breed on this Island. You can watch them building their nests there and feeding their offspring. Because of this habitat is full of herons every year you just need to wait on the shore and take hundreds or thousands of pictures of them.

I know several other places where these birds are pretty shy, maybe because they were hunted from the fishermen or hunters some years ago so they don't steal their fish, or they are not so much used to humans like the ones in the City.
