Welcome to the 97th Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. A weekly report focusing on the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.

Bitshares - State of the Network - 21st August 2018

The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.

Observation from this week

This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.

  • OpenLedger has introduced some of their UI/UX improvements. I have included a few of the new screenshots below but you can find the official release HERE

  • @clockwork has released an annimated gif showing the bitshares companion application in action. The Gif shows the companion app running in the background and then responding to the user clicking a voting link via a we browser. you can see the demo HERE

  • Jerry Liu (bitcrab), Committee Member of BitShares, Founder of @TheGDEX, and Founder of Spring Capital is speaking at BitFest Amsterdam

  • Google recently published "Blockchain Activity" on the Google Assistant platform, enabling its use instantly on all Google Assistant supported devices - potentially billions of users have blockchain activity statistics at their fingertips without the need to install any new apps (other than the Google Assistant app).   • btspp-witness (1.6.131) has rocketed through the ranks to become an active witness getting 349.7 Million votes in the last 7 days

  • blocktivity.info has added new blockchains to their list of monitored coins. You can now compare all the regulars with projects likes of GOLOS, WAVES and SCR. Check out the latest Blockchain Activity HERE

  • @blocktivity has released the latest composition of the Bit20 and Twentix cryptocurrency index fund. On the 21st day of every month, an algorithm runs that creates the new composition. You can find more details about the Bit20 composition HERE or the Twentix composition HERE

  • The Beyond Bitcoin Bitshares weekly hangouts have now moved to the Discord platform. You can join the Bitshares Discord HERE and also catch the latest hangouts streamed live on YouTube HERE

  • Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 1066828; an increase of 4599 wallets/accounts since last week
