going by from what I've noticed, tell me what you think about it
launch coin, keep 90%, release 1% into the market
hire marketmakers/washtrading to generate volume on dex's, pay a few easy exchanges like mxc to list
have a generally "new" idea, most likely a solution to a problem created rather than an actual innovation in the space and/or replicate something that exists in web2 and pretend it's web3 now
pay exchanges a % of supply to add to launch pool, they take part of it themselves, give the rest to exchange token holders
trade the very little supply back and forth to generate a lot of volume
send some of the 90% supply to an exchange, wait for pump and volume to kick in as exchanges start chasing your coin to quickly list so they can get some of that trading volume fee
make sure you also get listed on perps so that if people try and short your low liquidity supply you can liquidated them easily
with liquidation profits, keep pumping token along with the rest of the market's fomo
start selling part of the 90% at sub rank #30 marketcap
make sure you sell for as high as possible without crashing the market
slowrug while the rest of the world wakes up and keeps betting on your coin
hire a few influencers to keep promoting it with untracable money
keep taking out value from the ecosystem
rinse and repeat with different teams/people/ideas
never actually produce something that'll have a chance to replace an actual web2 service/app/idea
never introduce what this technology actually promotes
If anyone falls for this crap post 2018 that’s pathetic, but post 2021 cycle, they deserve to get rug pulled. Its been exposed for years now, anyone betting on these centralized no real purpose cryptos is a fool not an innocent victim.
Then we have these not even cryptos but totally centralized “tokens” that use other chains but are fully controlled by single person who can change rules with a click, some of the tribe tokens are fun, but how anyone looks at them as crypto is just odd.
Even your tag is bleh, that's very funny and sad, as that is the reality of many crypto projects back then and till now the system is still in wash, rinse and repeat.
The beautiful thing is that many innocent guys have become rich through this means, I mean those who don't even have a clue what is going on. I mean, coming in at the right time.
That would happen a lot more often if coins were launched fairly however.
You really have put words to what's been happening in crypto for the last several years and I am not seeing any change in the near future in this process. Though, now and then, someone does introduce something valueable which keeps hopes up and add value to web3.

You know that must be happening. I am not sure why I thought back in 2017 that the wild west of crypto would have been gentrified by now. Wonder if it is too late for my old ass to become an influencer and get in on this smoke and mirrors profit!
If this is the typical strategy in launching a token, then such a project has no future except for speculation and short-term profit for those who hold a huge % of the token.
