in #blockchainlast year (edited)

Hi, Hivers! A lot of exciting things are happening in the Philippine Web3 Festival. Yesterday, I shared to you the first part of the event (pre-registration and Day 1 conference). Today let me continue with the other talks that happened on 15th November.

After lunch, the talk commenced with fireside chat by Marzie Marzan of ALPAS and Leah Callon Butler of Emfarsis. Followed by a panel discussion on How DeFi Integrates Web3 to our Everyday Lives. The panelists include Wilson Huang (XY Finance), Anton Buenavista (Pendle Finance), and Ian Estrada (XLD Finance). The discussion was led by Alai Garcia (Xave Finance).

Next was another panel led by Peter Ing of BlockchainSpace with panelists Renz Chong of BreederDao, Dan Laborada of Playdex, and Carlos Otermin of Unlockd Finance. They talked about Harnessing Full Potential of Gaming NFTs.

Speaking of NFT, this topic would not be complete without the artists who made a way to showcase their arts through NFT. Filipino artists, Shiela Ledesma, Jopet Arlas, and Bjorn Calleja, graced this discussion with Ivan Larin (TZ APAC).

After a quick break, Angkas CEO, George Royeca was welcomed on stage. He shared a very moving story about how their company was crushed multiple times but was able to get back up every single time with their motivation.

Going back to the artists in the NFT space, the next topic about connecting artists to a Global audiences was delivered by a panel of artists that included a 10-year old boy whose art was able to make it to New York Times Square!

It was also revealed during the early part of the discussion that all these panelists' companies were client of Gorriceta Law. Of course, since the panel is full house, their thoughts on FTX fiasco was also asked.

SDD - Web3Fest 6.pngIt was girl power for the next panel that consists of all women. It was led by Katrina Chan of PH Startup Week with panelists Yang Yang Zhang of Xendit and Bing Zuo of Huawei.
To cap off the conference Day 1, John Verlin Santos of TZ APAC made an intro through spoken poetry. He even shared some of his works and encourage the audience to support NFT artists.SDD - Web3Fest 7.png

That was the end of the conference but not the end of the day for the VIP ticket holders because a VIP dinner at Shangri-La BGC was prepared for us.

It was where I had a chance to have a photo with Jihoz of Axie Infinity. I used an almost identical photo from the part 1 of the Philippine Web3 Festival article. It was really nice of my boss to tell him that I wanted a photo with him :)

Also, I met a colleague from the US who I have been working with for quite some time. It was nice to finally see faces of people I work with online.SDD - Web3Fest 13.png

That's it for the 15th November event. There are more exciting talks and happenings in the next days.

Thank you for reading this and hope to see you in the next one.

What an interesting event! Web3 space is growing and it's interesting to see more people behind it. Also, if you have posted the previous picture on another article, you can mention it and link it too that it was published before.

Happy that I am at the epicenter of Web3 adoption. :) Thank you for the comment, it's actually a different photo if you look closely, my eyes are almost closed here. I hesitated for a moment if I should add a mention but yeah, next time, I will do so if the photos are almost the same. Thank you! :)
