Where is Hive's Future?
This post is not about casting blame or the right and wrong of any other action taken or not taken. It is my opinion that some things should be thought of with a wider field of vision. All one way leads eventually to a dead end. Diversity is needed elsewhere along side diversity of the code we are able to utilise for the projects worked on by developers of the chain or independent coders wishing to have their code run on the chain. The one I like best is coders contracted to the chain. A discussion on that I would like to hear. Although, one I would like to hear for maybe different reasons to most.
Let's jump into the post or I will write a post about the post I am going to write.
In all of our lives. A change is needed, more than one too bet. But there are probably some things that might be something a wide majority of people would like to change. I doubt am going to be able to list all the changes people might like to see come about. Not directed at Hive this. Changes you would like to have seen before Crypto if you are old enough for that. Those things you thought to yourself should be available for everyone. Those type of things.
What change you would like to see, Some of the things I would like to see and some might be the same as yours.
Clean Drinkable Water.
Affordable Accommodation.
Education.
An Energy Supply.
Air Quality.
Waste Removal.
Opportunity.
Secure Financial Systems, Trustable.
This list can go on and on and on even longer than Ariston. ,, (Another old joke)
Drinkable water. We should be able to pipe this all across the planet. We don't because there are companies out there that have ambitions on privatising the natural water supplies around the world.
This cost was originally funded by your taxes. Taxes that got misused and filtered to a private company. Subsidised and paying millions in salary and bonus each year. Oh yes, you the tax payer subsidise the company that loses money to pay extortionate amounts to a small few at the top of the company chain. While the majority of the workforce struggle and often work to jobs to make ends meet. This only get even harder for the future unless something begins a change.
This one is a big topic. The cost's of accommodation. Both for now and the future of the generations you seed today. Somewhere to live for them, might not be even something they think of owning. The cost of ownership and the time it would take to pay the debt would indebt a family for 3 or more generations.
Currently both partners need to work to cover the bills they need to over come each week month or year. In some cases both even working two jobs. Add to that again where a sibling of the family also chips in with those payments just to make things work. The present does not look great for the generation I see coming up now. Never mind the one to come after that.
Education. A great tool to have moving forward in life. There are two forms of education I think though. One of these is often forgotten. We have subjects like mathematics. It is good to memorize some of those facts. 1+1=2 and so one the same with multiplications and division. Learning those by heart, can only be seen as a good thing by me. The same might be said for different things in other subjects too.
Not everything though. The one way of throwing this is fact, this is fact at someone. This is doomed to failure long term as it does not allow for discussion. Providing a learning environment along side a study environment is something lacking in many cases. Those younger than us need to be thought how to experiment and research to advance our technologies to the next level.
You have to wonder is there are conscious effort to keep populations in the dark.
I do not think an energy supply should be free. The same as with many parts of life. Things cost to bring about and maintain. These costs have to be covered somehow. I see nothing wrong with having a system with a communal fund that can help other things grow. You could say a bit like the DHF here.
A supply of energy should be there for the basic needs of any individual. It does not mean they can have parties every night and have Tesla cars charging up on their meter. The basics for someone in need should be available, and something we could afford to do.
Energy and internet access are becoming two essential pats of life today. Ensuring both of those are always available, seems like a long term project. One that should be started though.
Opportunity is something that each individual has to take advantage of. You cannot guarantee a persons life will be better if opportunity is thee for them. The individual must see the opportunity and take that risk of acting on it.
There is no assurance that any undertaking of an opportunity will yield positive results either.
There are certain levels we can people at as they combat the daily obstacles life brings to our doors. Many types of opportunity are lost to the need to find some finance. How many fine artist do we never get to see because they need to work two jobs to pay the rent and only get to paint on a Sunday for three hours. Just not enough time in a sitting to let the artist find it's way out.
The same would go for music. How much talent do we never hear. Maybe the same for coding even. That perfect mind to code for hive never gets here because they need to work and then part time at Pizza Place, to pay the weekly bills.
A transparent trail of actions. Any decentralised blockchain can do that effectively and host a secure chain record. Are they trustable though? In an instance like this I am unsure how to define the trust need. The most obvious thing that comes to mind, can we be assured to any degree, the best interest for the future of the chain is been put before the personal ambitions of the individual with authority.
This can never be done to the satisfaction of everyone else. Long term I think this begins to resolve itself. Less control will be held by an individual with time.
Hive is in a unique position to make use of a currency and an asset. This is a project that would take years to bring about. The rewards for everyone holding HIVE now would be enormous. The speculative value can easily be seen to hype the price above $20 for HIVE. At the same time it can reinforce the peg value with minimal need to trade.
These are just some of the things I feel as a community or as individuals in discussion we can all agree are part of what is needed to survive in todays developed world. Any topic you might like to add to the list I am sure there is a solution available. All the above things I know can be reduced in cost, increased in transparency. Availability. The Hive blockchain and its tokens can play a big part in making these changes.

Question that I would suggest you also tackle in your thought process is the following:
How can any economy that is purely governed by wealth (stake) ever accomplish anything different to the fiat economies?
Just throwing that out there for ya (not stirring the pot).
All questions are invited. This is something I have put some thought into. It does mean changes. Changes I might add, better the finances for any witness. A limit on this to level 60 or 75 might be needed.
For governance, is that something we want to move away from and it things run automatically?
Coder's and witnesses are two different things. It just happens to be that coders are the witness right now.
Blockchain or more so the finances that are on blockchain outside of the control of current financial systems was intended to remove the power from centralised financial systems. Getting back on tack for that is what I see as the main focus on Hive should be.
The current system Hive works on is basically the demo product of blockchain and a new spin to it. Nothing is being done to evolve outside of code. Unfortunately, Code is not finance, it is merely protocols for transactions.
Something new not here now can be used to reward witnesses and reimburse coders for their time code and effort. The reliance on the rewards pool for this is were things fall apart. I believe there is a better way forward than the current one. That can truly decentralise power.
It does need discussion and development too, it doesn't happen over night. But over 5 years. Who knows. If a project like this was started two years ago, It could already be providing a daily return to support development of approximately $200 - $250 per day. This amount increasing each year. It is only a matter of time before the returning revenue exceeds the reward pool. This is all done by the creation of an end user.
If we improve things, Why would the governance of the chain not improve along with it.
