RE: The Blockchain: As Seen From an Old Library of the Future (fiction)

This story is so possible, so far from fantasy, that I can clearly see it happening. And if it does happen, would people finally begin to realize we only have ourselves to blame? We don't just watch while the prisons get built around us, we actively contribute to the process. People make the mistake of thinking "I broke free from the box!" Without understanding that there is another box, albeit a bigger one, that they need to tackle next.

Sort:

I wanted to see the future, so I looked at the past, and the boxes that people used to live in. Some loved their boxes and some never saw a box. I think that no matter how much things change around us, our biggest adversary so far has been our own group mind working against us.
This story was one where the author starts out writing doom and gloom but then remembers a better version of things by the end, and hopefully represents humanity finding power in gratitude, and changing that bad attitude that fosters boxes. The box is imaginary until enough people assemble it in their heads, and it starts to show in the physical.

You write well, my friend.
