Getting Back to those Epic Cameras During The 90's and Early Millenial

in #blog6 years ago (edited)

Photo is Mine.

Memories will be forever treasured and its proof are the captured frozen moments. Those captured moments are our proof that yes, once we were happy, joyful, sad, in love and heartbroken.

Camera, either you’re using your mobile or a real one, it captures moment that we want to reminisce as the time goes by. But where are we now when it comes to technology? I feel nostalgic and I wanna get to the time where I first came to see and know about this wonderful item.

DISCLAIMER: this is purely based on my experience and I may missed some features. Please feel free to leave a comment and I would love to read your captured memories.

1. Filmed Camera

Remember how careful and accurate you posed in front of this camera? Twelve, sixteen and thirty-two shots which you carefully took, and where you avoid getting the film exposed. As during the 90s, digital cameras were not present, so in order for us to see the outcome of our shots, we go in a Photography shop to have our films printed. And it takes a quite time of waiting to get the paper printout of it. The negative copy will be given to us as well just in case we want the same pictures to be printed.

And of course, the photos have to be laminated in order to refrain its beauty. And sometimes, when the printout has moist, I remember washing it to save the picture.

2. The birth of the China Made MP4 and MP3s

I can still remember when I was in high school when my classmate brought her MP4 that was made in China. We were all so thrilled and we lined up to borrow it as we can use her item to take photos. The MP4/MP3 that came from China offered a dual purpose for both music and photography lovers as It served as a digital camera and a music player. Hence the result of the photos are not as good as the original digital cameras.

Here's a sample photo. Camera Used is the MP4 player of my high school classmate (Niezel). Photo is grabbed from my FB account.

3. Digital Camera

A decade after, at last, the birth of digital cameras happened and it saved us a lot of money and we can take multiple shots without getting worried as it has no film. We can easily see the photos right after we took it and we can save or delete files. Another good thing about this camera is that we can choose files which we wanted to print.

Camera Used: Samsung Digital Camera (2012 model). Photo is mine.

4. Mobile Phone Camera

Thank goodness to the inventors of NOKIA who invented the first mobile phone who offers the camera. 😂😂😂 a mobile phone that’s made even better as we can send our photos directly to someone. As the time passes and now, mobile cameras are as good as the digital cameras before and some models are much better than the DigiCams.

A sample photo of mine. Camera Used is Nokia 7630 mobile phone. Featuring the SEPIA feature. LOLS

Conclusion

As time vastly passed, the technology had also improved a lot-lot more. From the above poor camera qualities, we now have DSLR and Mirrorless cameras that have an amazing image quality features. Hence, I am very grateful to the above-mentioned cameras as, without them, I will not be able to capture my childhood and teenage memories. And as I continually grow, the value of every frozen moment offered by these cameras are priceless.
