Legal or not, to me this trial serves as propaganda to Ukraine, and it is not wise indeed for all the reasons mentioned above, and the fact the Russians will certainly retaliate with their own prisonners, tenfold. But also, the choice of the accused seems to me to be not very thought through. Russian or not, I see a young guy, well out of his depth, stuck in a situation where he had probably no choice from the start. Who followed orders. Or the momentum of the group he was with, the adrenaline, the fear. On his own, taking the blame for the generals, commanders and all those leading this war. This will certainly not serve as a lesson, to any of the other youngsters enlisted like he was. I see a young guy, who could be my son, and pity him. This leaves quite a lot of unease in my heart towards those orchastrating this, who surely expect my support, influence, money whatever to help them with their cause. And I am sure I am not the only one.
My thought went right away to another item I saved - and that deals with the surrender of Azov at Mariupol. The Russians are already saying they too will try them for war crimes.
Russia’s main federal investigative body said it intends to interrogate the surrendering troops to “identify the nationalists” and determine whether they were involved in crimes against civilians.
I saved a video (in German) that deals with the aftermath, in it, you see some disturbing pictures as the Azov solders had to strip down to reveal their tatooes - obvious almost all of them with Nazi symbols:

A interesting article by the Hindu News: The far-right militia, once banned by the U.S., is part of Ukraine’s National Guard - I find that some sources outside of the Western Media are more reliable, as I had also found with the reporting of Gravitas Live by WION - a more recent example:

Das Problem ist das jetzt auch Finnland und Schweden der Nato beitreten wollen und Putin sich dann noch mehr in die Enge getrieben fühlt.... so glaube ich nicht das er den Krieg beenden wird....
Und bis die Waffenhändler so viel Geld damit verdienen wird immer mehr passieren, siehe Amerika.

Die Sanktionen bewirken dass wir dazu noch teures Fracking Gas von den Amerikanern kaufen. Amerikanisches Gas nach Europa
Gleichzeitig erfahren wir:
Preisschock bei Fernwärme
Gar nicht zu reden über Öl, welches die Russen nun wegen der Sanktionen an Asiatische Länder verkaufen, diese wiederum es of hoher See umladen und teuer an die blöden Europäer verkaufen.
Ja logisch.... wir denken grün und machen krieg... das menschliche Wesen ist nicht nur respektlos sondern auch blöd🤢

After some turbulent days of ups and downs, I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR UPVOTES. Regardless of what the "flavor of the month" prescribes politically, I stay true to my convictions and have in my given examples shown divergent opinions. When everything is said and done, we will be better equipped to analyze what really happened, and not what the mainstream media mantra had spread about.
What should be the overarching sentiment here is the quote with which I lead this essay. In fact, I should have included Clare Daly' s impassioned speech at the EU assembly:
