Hello friends, today I have the pleasure of participating in another contest of the Hive Book Club community after a long time, for personal reasons I was away from the platform, but I am glad to return and be able to contribute with my post to this wonderful contest.
Hola amigos hoy tengo el gusto de participar en otro concurso de la comunidad de Hive Book Club después de mucho tiempo, por razones personales estuve alejada de la plataforma, pero me alegro en volver y poder contribuir con mi post a este maravilloso concurso.
What is your favorite time or place to read?
I don't really have a favorite time or place, since I was 12 years old I caught reading mostly books about mysteries, terror, biographies and adventures, whenever I came home from school, after doing my homework, I would take a book from the library and read it. I read, my uncle had a large number of literary classics at his house and he always let me bring a book home, when I finished it, I would go for another. His library was my treasure trove of sweets, it had books by writers such as: A. Dumas (both, at that age I found out that there are two Dumas, father and son), Mark Twain, Charles Dickens among many others.
¿Cuál es tu momento o lugar favorito para leer?
No tengo un momento favorito o lugar en realidad, desde los 12 años me atrapo la lectura sobre todo libros de misterios, terror, biografías y aventuras, siempre que llegaba del colegio, luego de hacer mis deberes, tomaba un libro de la biblioteca y lo leía, mí tío tenía en su casa una gran cantidad de clásicos de la literatura y siempre me dejaba traerme un libro a casa, cuando lo terminaba, iba por otro. Su biblioteca era mi tesoro de dulces, tenia libros de escritores como: A. Dumas (ambos, a esa edad me enteré que hay dos Dumas, padre e hijo), Mark Twain, Charles Dickens entre otros muchos.
What makes you enjoy a book?
His story, that catches me from the first moment, that I fall in love with his characters, that awakens my imagination that makes me live every moment and moment of the story, that I cannot stop reading it because I am dying to know what comes next, what It will happen that the character, if he will come out of his difficulties. That emotion that raises your adrenaline thinking that it comes after each page, what will you discover, that is what makes me enjoy, love or hate a book, that moves your emotions to the marrow.
¿Qué te hace disfrutar de un libro?
Su historia, que me atrape desde el primer momento, que me enamore de sus personajes, que despierte mi imaginación que me haga vivir cada momento e instante de la historia, que no pueda dejarlo de leer porque me muero por saber que sigue después, que pasará que el personaje, si saldrá airoso de sus dificultades. Esa emoción que te sube la adrenalina pensando que viene tras cada página, qué descubrirás, eso es lo que me hace disfrutar, amar o odiar un libro, que te mueva las emociones hasta el tuétano.
Do you like to read outside, before bed, or on the bus on the way to work?
I like to read when I am calm, usually in my room, not outdoors because I get distracted and on a bus I get dizzy if I read, to read a book and absorb every word you have to be in a cozy and comfortable environment. The perfect place for me is my room, where I isolated myself from the world to enjoy reading a good book, where my imagination flies with each page, where I can release my emotions, because there are books that make you laugh with their stories, cry with the sadness of the situations of that character you adore, hating the characters that hurt the protagonist of the story. Perhaps because I literally live the book I prefer the sanctuary of my room to read.
¿Le gusta leer al aire libre, antes de acostarse o en el autobús de camino al trabajo?
Me gusta leer cuando estoy tranquila por lo general en mi cuarto, no al aire libre porque me distraigo y en un autobús me mareo si leo, para leer un libro y absorber cada palabra hay que estar en un ambiente acogedor y cómodo. El lugar perfecto para mi es mi habitación, donde me aisló del mundo para disfrutar la lectura de un buen libro, donde mi imaginación vuele con cada página, dónde pueda liberar mis emociones, porque hay libros que te hacen reír con sus historias, llorar con las tristezas de las situaciones de ese personaje que adoras, odiar a los personajes que le hacen daño a al protagonista de la historia. Tal vez porque vivo literalmente el libro prefiero el santuario de mi habitación para leer.
Do you focus on character development, thoughtful messages, or the level of intrigue a plot generates in you?
Usually I focus on the plot how it develops with the characters, that the story is coherent, credible, that the characters each have their leitmotif, those are the elements of a good story, those that catch you that you cannot leave of reading, that even when you stop reading they keep thinking about what will happen to the character or characters in the story, that's what I focus on.
Obviously it also depends on the book you are reading at that time, if it is self-help or biographies, then you identify with situations that you read that have happened to you and that activates the memory, makes you reflect on the way you handled it and how you should have done it. If things had been different, many times you learn through the experiences of others and that helps a lot to make better people and grow as human beings.
¿Te enfocas en el desarrollo del personaje, los mensajes reflexivos o el nivel de intriga que genera una trama en ti?
Por lo general me enfoco en la trama cómo esta se desarrolla con los personajes, que la historia sea coherente, creíble, que los personajes cada uno tenga su leitmotiv, esos son los elementos de una buena historia, esas que te atrapan que no puedes dejar de leer, que aun cuando dejas de leer siguen pensando en que le ocurrirá al personaje o personajes de la historia, en eso es en lo que me enfoco.
Obviamente también depende del libro que este leyendo en ese momento, si es de autoayuda o biografías, entonces te identificas con situaciones que lees que te han pasado y eso activa el recuerdo, te hace reflexionar en la manera en que lo manejaste y cómo debiste hacerlo si las cosas hubieran sido deferentes, muchas veces aprendes a través de las experiencias de otros y eso ayuda mucho hacer mejores personas y crecer como seres humanos.
Oh Charles Dickens, Oliver twist has was the first novel I tried to read.
As a freshman in becoming an English teacher. Back Then literature seemed impossible to me.
And I remember that Dickens was using a unique and Old English vocabulary that belongs to the 19th century.
I've actually found a personalized glossary at the end of the book.
How odd haha
Sinceramente, aprender de las experiencias de los demás siempre es útil. Una persona consigue evitar pasar por situaciones o dificultades similares a las que se encontró aquel del que está aprendiendo.
