"If your name's not down, you're not coming in..."

Do you apply a "red-rope" policy to your business?

So that you choose who is allowed 'entry'...
(and who is 'NOT a good fit').

I've worked with businesses that'll accept anyone who walked through the door. No questions. Zero qualification.

Then complain when they're not getting paid, staff morale is low and they, personally, are at the end of their tether.

Applying a "red rope policy" seems scary, but it is kind to your business and kind to your customer.

Accept that you're not right for everyone, but you're absolutely perfect for some 😊

Tough to do it in the current climate when there is full employment. Also someone with the qualifications may not have any cop on so it is tough. Granted I think there should be a minimum level but some of the best people I worked at a high level got to where they were from their own drive than any qualification. The bad eggs you can spot within 6 months probation. If they slip through the net then the employer is the one not doing their job properly.

Actually meant customers, but totally get your point!

I SEEEEEEE. in that case, keep the riff raff out.
