Police Warn About Cannabis Laced with Fentanyl

in #cannabis2 years ago

Dozens of drug overdoses from around Connecticut are believed to be the result of tainted cannabis supply. The marijuana is said to be laced with fentanyl and authorities are warning the public about the potential danger.

Authorities had seized some cannabis in Plymouth which was later tested and found to have been positive for fentanyl at their crime lab. The case is the first of its kind to confirm marijuana had been laced with fentanyl in Connecticut.

It might be the first case of its kind in the United States.

Drug overdose death rates reached an all time high in 2020 and 2021.

Over the years naloxone has been saving tens of thousands of people from losing their lives to drug overdose with opioid drugs.

For cannabis patients around the U.S. and elsewhere it is important to find quality and trusted sources for supply because there is the risk of harmful products circulating in the market as we see here and have seen before. It's reported that some of those who had the tainted cannabis had been able to be revived with Naloxone so it ended up saving their life.
